with Go is it 1 reward for every dollar spent or per transaction? If transaction one can split it into numerous transactions and get more points?

Hi Richard,

The terms and conditions state that you can earn 8 Virgin Money Points for each purchase you make. If you made multiple transactions with one retailer, you should get 8 points for each transaction. You’ll get your points within 24 hours after the purchase has settled in your account.

Note that 5000 points is equal to around $20 in value. To earn $20 worth of gift cards, you’d need to settle 625 transactions at 8 points per transaction.

Hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

There is no monthly criteria to use this account, only the linked savings account.

However, this account comes with a $5 overseas ATM fee and a 2.5% international transaction fee. We have a guide on cards with no international transaction fees here.

I hope that helps.

Hi,

I was reading more about the virgin Money Go and the booster accounts. I’m trying to pick a bank so I can open a account. So I would really appreciate your help. I have the following questions:

1. With this virgin accounts would I be able to use the card to shop online?

My sister opened an account with Westpac and was only given an EFTPOS card that doesn’t work for online transactions

2. With the international fees, does this apply to purchasing things online?

If so, would you recommend another account with lower international transaction fees? (But still good for saving, and not paying fees in general)

Thank you!

Hi Taciane,

The Virgin Money Go Account comes with a Visa Debit Card that you can use online and overseas.

Yes, international transaction fees apply whenever a currency conversion takes place – so this includes shopping online from international sites. If you shop online from international sites a lot, you could consider using a card that doesn’t charge international transaction fees. You’ll see some options on our guide here.

Thanks,

Alison
