Kelly Vieira's headshot

"I have this account mostly for travel / overseas purchases because I closed my 28 Degrees credit card after the Latitude financial data breach. It used to be better value when using other banks' ATMs for free was a big draw, but since they all do that now it's a bit less 'shiny'. No foreign transaction fee and no monthly fees make it a pretty decent account to have."

How long – how many days – does Bankwest apply on, authorisation only holds?

On online payments, Eftpos machine transactions?

For this type of account, easy transactions?

Do I ring the bank to release the authorisation only hold?

Thank-you

Hi CS,

Your best option would be to call the bank to find out its policies.

I hope that helps.

Hi Lynne,

Bankwest doesn’t charge any international transaction fees or foreign ATM fees, but ATM operators overseas might charge their own fees.
