BINGE vs Stan TV shows and movies

Both have a similar sized catalogue, but BINGE's is slightly bigger. BINGE has 1,500 shows and 964 movies. Over at Stan, you can watch 879 TV shows and 10,024 movies.

BINGE carries a lot of HBO content, which will likely make a difference for some users. Top shows on the platform include The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Succession, Sex and The City, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Euphoria, and The White Lotus. You'll also find original productions like Colin from Accounts and Love Me, reality hits, kids' shows and a wide variety of movies, including recent blockbusters.

While Stan used to carry a lot of iconic series, the streamer lost some of this content when competitors Disney Plus and Paramount Plus launched in Australia.

However, it made up for its losses by investing heavily in original content, with titles including Bump, Black Snow and The Tourist. The platform also offers a great selection of movies, some reality TV and kids' programming. Or, you can watch popular licensed shows like Yellowstone, Poker Face, Lucky Hank, Bel Air and more.

Features: BINGE vs Stan

Overall, both streaming services have a fairly standard user interface.

What is unique to BINGE is the fact that it streams live channels, enabling users to keep up with their favourite shows as they air. This includes the likes of popular Foxtel TV channels Showcase, Lifestyle and Arena. You can find the full list of channels in our BINGE hub page. BINGE also offers WWE live and on demand as part of its subscription, while Stan charges extra for live sport.

There's also the Surprise Me! feature on BINGE, which is essentially a randomiser. Through the use of AI, it looks to kill the scroll and selects a program for you to start watching. It's nothing groundbreaking, but may be more enticing than simply seeing something recommended for you.

On the other hand, Stan supports offline viewing, allowing subscribers to download content to mobile devices. You can only stream videos on BINGE.

Both services offer solid device compatibility, enabling you to watch on a variety of screens, big and small. Both let you stream on up to 4 devices at once depending on subscription plan, while you can download content onto 5 devices on Stan's Premium plan.

Stan has a narrow edge with devices in that supports more smart TV models than BINGE and you can watch via Fetch TV, so make sure your preferred device is compatible before signing up.

Verdict: Is Stan or BINGE better?

If you're looking for a library built on big-name providers, then BINGE wins with the likes of HBO and Warner Bros and more. Stan excels on the technical side thanks to offline viewing. The platform's original content is also appealing, so you might want to dip your toes into its selection of Aussie shows and movies, but BINGE is catching up in that regard.
