Hi Pani,
With credit cards you can earn points on eligible purchases or transactions. This can vary by bank or card company but it typically covers most everyday purchases but excludes things like: bill payments to the government, BPAY transactions, gambling, money transfers or other cash advance transactions.

Hi,
How long Do I need to keep this card to have the points please?
Angus Kidman Finder
October 13, 2024
Hi Yolanda, To earn the bonus points, you need to spend $3,000 on eligible transactions within the first 2 months, so you’d have to keep the card for at least that long. In practice, you’ll pay the annual fee up front so you might want to use the card for points earning for a year. Hope this helps.

Hi am i able to transfer and pay off my currant Commbank Gold Business so i can start using the American express card for more points?

To pay out and close your CommBank Gold Business card, you’ll need to contact CommBank directly. The Amex Qantas Business Rewards doesn’t have a balance transfer option, so you can’t transfer your existing debt to it, and transfers don’t generally qualify to earn points anyway. Hope this helps!

Can you accumulate points by pay BAS, Super etc with The American Express Qantas Business Rewards Card?
Angus Kidman Finder
September 15, 2024
Hi Mel, You can earn points by paying your BAS or other tax bills with this card – this will be at the rate of 0.5 points per $1 spent. Note that the ATO also charges a 1.45% fee for payments by credit card. Check out our full guide to earning points when paying your taxes to learn more about how the process works. Super payments generally can’t be made via credit card so that’s not a points-earning option here.

Hi there,
Would you happen to know if I personally hold a current AMEX card if I’d still be eligible for the bonus 150k points? Given this is a business card?

Hi Michael,
According to the T&Cs: Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the past 18 months are ineligible for this offer.
If you are getting a business card in the name of the business, then you should be eligible. If your business name is the same as your personal name (ie you operate as a sole trader), then you may run into some grey areas. In that situation, it would be worth contacting AMEX to get some personal advice.
Hope this helps!
