Hi Samuel,
The bonus points are usually awarded the month after the statement period within which they were earned. So if you meet the minimum spend on April 13, and your statement period ends April 25, you can expect the points to be awarded to your account some time in May.
Hope this helps!

I am an ANZ customer and want to earn points when I travel which is not often but I want a CC to work a bit for me – I do not have one to pay off I use a Debit Card and have savings – I basically want to try and get points to use for travel; low annual fee and low % on purchases I will not be using it for cash advances – I also only want for up to say $6000 – what would you recommend for me I have an idea but want your expert advise

Hi Donna,
If you wish to get a credit card to earn points, a rewards card is a good option. These often come with a higher annual card fee (on this card, it’s quite low at $95 – fees can be up to $400, or more for premium top end cards).
It can be tricky to find a card that offers both a low interest rate and rewards points, so it’s worth considering which goal is more important to you? If you pay off all purchases in full each month then the interest rate won’t matter as much, and you can aim to find a card with a high earn rate and ideally a good bonus points offer at sign up. If you think you may carry debt on the card (ie you won’t pay the balance in full each month), then it’s important to consider whether the points you earn for travel will be outweighed by the interest you earn.
We’re not licenced to provide personal advice, but hopefully this information helps you make a decision. Best of luck!

I’m a current customer of anz and have an anz rewards credit card – not a platinum. Am I eligible for the 80,000 points and/or $50 cash back?
Also is travel insurance available with my current credit card? Or only with the platinum?

Hi Sam,
According to ANZ’s criteria, to be eligible for the bonus points offer you just need to make sure “you don’t currently hold and haven’t opened or closed an ANZ Rewards Black, ANZ Rewards Platinum, ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure or an ANZ Rewards credit card in the last 12 months and meet all other offer eligibility criteria”. So unfortunately it sounds like you still will not be eligible for the offer.
It looks like your credit card, the ANZ Rewards Credit Card, is discontinued. But from what I can see there are no complimentary insurances included on the card. However, you might want to confirm this with ANZ directly.
Hope this has helped,
Elizabeth

I want to pay my airline tickets with my visa card as I want the travel insurance that comes with it.
the airline tickets are [more than] my card limit. Can I pay [the difference] in advance and then use my card?

Hi Bill,
If you want to add the additional funds to your credit card, contact ANZ on 13 22 73 to see if this is possible. Alternatively, you could see if the airline or travel booking service will accept a part payment from your credit card and another account.
Something else to keep in mind is that this international travel insurance is available when you spend $250 on prepaid travel costs with the card and meet the other requirements. As well as flights, this spending amount could be for accommodation or other “prepaid travel itinerary items” according to the complimentary credit card insurance policy document (pdf effective 27 April 2022). I hope that helps.

I have paid for a holiday at Christmas with my Visa credit card. I understand that my husband is not eligible for the free travel insurance as he is outside the age limit. Am I eligible for the travel insurance and how do I go about arranging a copy of the policy?
Thank you for your help.

Hi Sue,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
The eligibility requirements for the ANZ complimentary travel insurance are as follows:
- Use an eligible ANZ credit card to pay for at least AUD$250 (inclusive of taxes and other charges) of your prepaid travel costs.
- You should be a permanent Australian citizen or resident or hold a visa that allows you to live and work in Australia issued under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
- You must have a valid return overseas travel ticket before leaving Australia.
- You must be 80 years of age or under on the day you activated the insurance policy.
- A spouse and/or a child who is travelling with the cardholder on the trip for at least 50% of the period of cover is also eligible for travel insurance.
Since ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance is underwritten by Allianz Australia Insurance, please contact them directly for a copy of your policy.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni

Hi I wanted to get a visa card that I can get some decent velocity bonus points for signing up to. So the ANZ rewards platinum one was recommended.
I plan to fly return from Melbourne to
Brisbane return with my wife.
My question is how long after the initial 3 months after approval is it before I can access the points to be able to use them to book the flights?
Thanks
