Our verdict

Offers 0% interest on balance transfers for 6 months, with a 11.99% p.a. variable interest rate after that.

The Credit Union SA Visa has simple, low-cost features – including a $59 annual fee and 11.99% p.a. variable interest rate for purchases and cash advances. In comparison, some other low rate cards charge a different, higher cash advance interest rate. The current 0% balance transfers offer gives you 6 months to repay existing debt interest-free. This is one of the shortest balance transfer offers on the market but is available at any time once you have the card.

Pros

  • 0% p.a. on balance transfers for 6 months
  • Same low interest rate of 11.99% p.a. on purchases and cash advances
  • $0 annual fee when linked to a Home Loan Package

Cons

  • Charges a 3% foreign transaction fee
  • No rewards program
