The St.George Amplify Platinum Credit Card currently has a bonus points offer, and a discounted $49 annual fee in the first year, which goes to $124 after that. The annual fee that applies after the first year is similar to other platinum cards. But it’s still worth thinking about whether the value you’ll get from points and other perks – will justify this cost for you.

"I'm a keen points hunter but I also hate paying huge annual credit card fees, so when I looked for a credit card, these are two things I consider. St George Amplify Platinum ticked both my boxes because their annual card fee is on the lower side, and their earn rate is high."

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your question.
If you don’t have an employer and would like to apply for this card as self-employed, St. George may consider your application, but you have to provide a Notice of Assessment. If you’ve been self-employed for less than a year, you won’t be able to apply.
Cheers,
Anndy

Hi!
Could we choose the 30,000 bonus point between Qantas reward program or Amplify reward program when we spent $2500 for the first 90 days after we applied for the card?

Hi Anna.
Thank you for your inquiry.
You can choose between Amplify Rewards or Qantas Rewards with the St.George Amplify Platinum credit card as long as you spend $2,500 in eligible purchases and if your card application is approved before January 4, 2017.
Cheers,
Jason

I am about to travel within Australia and will be hiring a car for 5 days. Does the travel insurance attached to my card cover or reduce the excess insurance that car hire companies offer or do I need to take out extra cover when I hire the car? And, if cover is provided, what is the excess I still have to pay?

Hi Rob, thanks for your inquiry!
St.George will reimburse you up to A$5,500 for any insurance excess or deductible which you become legally liable to pay in respect of a claim under the comprehensive insurance policy of the rental vehicle during the rental period provided. You must pay the first A$250 for each claim. Please refer to page 41 of the PDF I have sent to your email on the full terms of this policy, to ensure that you are covered.
Cheers,
Jonathan

With Qantas Frequent Flyer programme, does one earn 1 point per $1 spent like other credit card providers, or do you offer only 1/2 a point for $1 spent?
Thanks

Hi Ray, thanks for your inquiry!
The St. George Amplify Platinum card provides the choice between earning Amplify points or Qantas Frequent Flyers points directly. If Amplify points are chosen you will only have the choice of Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles, Malaysia Airlines Enrich points or Velocity Frequent Flyer Points.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hello
Why do you have to have an employer to have an income? What if the income threshold is exceeded with investments, savings, interest and dividends?
