• New cardholders. Only new customers can access the bonus points offer.
• Good history. You must have a good credit score and history. You can check your comprehensive credit report and score for free through Finder.
• Age. You must be at least 18 years old.

Required documents

• Personal details. Your full name, address and driver's licence number will be required.
• Proof of identification. This includes your Australian driver's licence, passport or Medicare card.
• Employment. You'll need to confirm your current employment, as well as your employer's name and contact details.
• Income. You'll need to confirm your income with recent bank statements and payslips. You'll also need to detail any other income sources, including those derived from dividends.
• Finances. This includes your living expenses as well as any other credit limits (or outstanding balances) of any other credit cards or loans.
• Balance transfer. If you're conducting a balance transfer, you'll need to include the card or account number of any balances you wish to transfer.

• Velocity Points per $1 spent. This card earns 0.66 Velocity Points per $1 for the first $1,500 spent on eligible transactions in each statement period, then 0.5 Velocity Points per $1 on eligible spending for the rest of that statement period. You'll also earn an extra 1 point per $1 spent on purchases made directly with Virgin Australia.
• $129 Virgin Australia gift voucher benefit. You can get a $129 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher each year when you have this card. You just need to use the card for a retail purchase within 2 months of requesting the voucher, which is issued as a Travel Bank Credit. You'll then have 12 months to use the credit for eligible flights or other travel services booked through the Virgin Australia website. Note that in the first year you have this card you'll become eligible for this benefit after the first 30 days.
• Complimentary insurance. The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card offers purchase protection insurance that protects you against loss, theft or accidental damage to a covered item purchased with the card. This card also comes with extended warranty insurance for eligible items, up to a maximum period of 1 year. Eligibility requirements, exclusions and terms and conditions apply.
• Mobile wallets. You can link your credit card to Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Apple Pay and use your eligible device to make contactless payments.
• Security. Your account is protected by Fraudshield and Visa's Zero Liability policy. This means you'll be alerted if any suspicious activity is monitored on your account and you won't be liable if any fraudulent transactions are made with your card.

• Cash advance interest rate. If you use your card to make a cash advance, such as an ATM withdrawal, you'll be charged a 20.99% p.a. interest rate.
• Foreign exchange fee. If you use your card to make a foreign transaction overseas or when shopping online with an international merchant, you'll be charged a fee equal to 3.3% of the transaction. Fees charged will be reflected as a single amount on your credit card statement.
• Minimum credit limit. The credit limit for this card starts at $6,000, but can go as high as $100,000 depending on your income and credit history.
• Interest-free days. You can save with up to 44 days interest-free on purchases provided that you pay your balance in full by the due date on each statement. Please note that you are not eligible for interest-free days while you are carrying debt from a balance transfer.
