How do I get the additional 100 status credits?

Avatar

Hi Lisa,

You can get 20% bonus Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia flights that you pay in full with your Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer Card, up to 100 bonus Status Credits each year. This will be earned within 60 days of the allocation of your base Status Credits to your Velocity account.

So, if you purchase a flight and earn 30 status credits, you’ll be awarded an additional 6 credits. You can do this up to a limit of 100 bonus credits per year.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ted,

The rewards terms and conditions for this card don’t specifically mention gift cards or stored value cards in regards to eligible purchases. But they do state that the details of an “eligible purchase” are based on details provided by the merchant and/or relevant financial institutions. So it may depend on where and how you purchased a gift card. You could contact Virgin Money directly on 13 37 39 to discuss this before buying a gift card. Finder’s guide to buying gift cards with a credit card has further details and tips that may also be of interest.

Hi

What purchasers are deemed eligible for the bonus points?

Avatar

Hi Mike,

Most everyday spending is eligible to earn points, including bonus points. For example, groceries, petrol, dining, travel bookings etc. Here’s the wording for the offer terms and conditions from the Virgin Money website: “An eligible purchase means any purchase excluding Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, refunds and chargebacks, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, and fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges.” If you have a specific purchase in mind, you could also contact Virgin Money on 13 37 39 to discuss if it’s eligible. I hope this helps.
