The Westpac Altitude Velocity Platinum Credit Card has a Velocity Frequent Flyer option so you can earn more points for flights and other rewards. The current bonus points offer is competitive with the rest of the market and gives you enough Velocity Points for a return business class flight from Sydney to Perth (71,000 points, plus carrier charges).

How to apply

You can apply for the Westpac Altitude Velocity Platinum card online in around 10 minutes. Start by checking that you meet the following eligibility requirements and have all the details and documents you'll need to fill out the application form.

Eligibility criteria

  • New customer. The bonus points offer is only available to new cardholders.
  • Residency. This card is available to permanent Australian residents.

Card benefits

  • Up to 80,000 bonus Velocity Points. You'll get 60,000 bonus Velocity Points when you apply for the Westpac Altitude Velocity Platinum by 31 July 2024 and spend at least $4,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days from card approval. Receive another 20,000 points after making your first eligible purchase in the second year.
  • Discounted first-year annual fee. Save with a reduced annual fee of $174 for the first year when you apply by 31 July 2024. This includes both the card annual fee and an annual Velocity Rewards fee, and reverts to $250 after the first year.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, the Westpac Altitude Velocity Platinum card charges a total annual fee of $250. This is made up of the $175 standard annual fee plus the $75 Velocity opt-in fee.
  • Purchase rate. This credit card charges a variable interest rate of 20.99% p.a. on purchases.
