Our verdict
Like the name suggests, Easy Crypto aims to make it easy for anyone to get into the crypto market.
Easy Crypto lets you buy and sell a surprisingly diverse range of coins using Australian dollars and even use its swap feature to move directly from one coin to another, or set up auto-buys whenever you deposit funds into your account.
It also simplifies the trade process by offering a set buy and sell price on all coins that includes any fees. This means the price you see on the website is the price you get, with no hidden fees.
Unlike other crypto exchanges, Easy Crypto does not hold your coins. When you purchase coins from Easy Crypto, they are transferred to your own self-custodial wallet. While this may be daunting for beginners, it does encourage users to take control of their own coins and wallet.
Pros
-
No hidden fees. All fees are included in the offered price.
-
Offers AUD buys and sells. You can trade crypto using Australian dollars.
-
Swap cryptos directly. Trade one crypto for another without having to sell back to AUD first.
-
Trade 160+ coins. Easy Crypto offers a wide selection of cryptocurrencies.
Cons
-
Self-custodial. Easy Crypto will not store your coins on your behalf. You’ll need to manage them yourself using your Easy Crypto wallet.
-
Basic trade features. There’s no orderbook or advanced trading options. You can only buy or sell at the advertised price.
-
Swap feature may not be most cost effective. While it offers convenience, it might be cheaper to swap coins via another method.

Popular assets on Easy CryptoEasy Crypto fees review
Easy Crypto doesn’t charge a set trading fee, instead it factors all fees into the price it offers on its website.
While this can simplify the purchasing process, especially for beginners, it might not be the most cost effective way of buying crypto.
However, you can get a fee discount depending on how much you use Easy Crypto. You’ll receive a 5% discount on fees once you’ve spent $1,000, 10% discount once you’ve spent $10,000 and a 20% discount after you’ve spent $100,000.
Other fees
As we mentioned above, Easy Crypto incorporates all relevant fees into the price it offers on its website. This includes any network fees, mining fees, exchange fees or gas fees.
However, depending on your deposit method, you may need to pay a fee when adding AUD to your account.
Easy Crypto uses a maker taker fee structure for spot market trading. Instant purchases incur a separate fee.

Maker fee explained. A maker fee is the fee charged when you propose an order for other traders to take. In other words, this fee is charged when you place a limit order to sell an asset, but that order is not filled immediately.
