Main points to consider when renting a vehicle through DriveMyCar
Before you rent a vehicle, you must be registered with Uber and approved by DriveMyCar, which includes a credit check. This is a peer-to-peer service, which means you will be dealing with the car owner directly. You can also read reviews on each car owner from previous renters. While the rental fee includes insurance and maintenance, you will be liable for other costs like cleaning, fines and additional kilometres. Besides Uber business, rentals can also be used for personal purposes.
Features of DriveMyCar’s vehicle rental
Here are some of the features you can expect from DriveMyCar.
- Both Uber and personal use. You can use the rental for Uber and personal use. While you have the option to sign on an additional driver, only the renter can use the car for Uber business.
- All-inclusive price. The weekly rental price starts at $160 and includes insurance, 24-hour roadside assistance, servicing and vehicle registration. There are no hidden fees.
- Account manager. You have a DriveMyCar representative dedicated to managing your contract.
- Secure. Renters' identities are screened and verified, and credit checks are conducted to ensure financial responsibility. Bookings are only confirmed after the renter pays a bond and the first payment. In turn, renters can leave feedback for car owners.
- Wide range of vehicles. DriveMyCar puts renters in touch with private owners, so it offers a varied fleet of vehicles with around 40 makes, each with its own fee schedule.
- Flexible rental terms. You can rent from a minimum of seven days up to 365 days. If you'd like to return the vehicle, you have a seven-day notice period before handing it back.
- Longer rentals available. You can rent a car for up to a year with a longer rental contract.
- Free kilometres. You have a free kilometre allowance of 1,050 km per week.
- Free membership. You can sign up to DriveMyCar free of charge and there are no ongoing costs associated with being a member.

Hi Peau,
Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.
It’s different from police report. Your credit report is a record of your loan applications, lines of applications and repayment history. This is what lenders use to decide if you’re a good or bad candidate for a loan. If you want a clear understanding of your finances, you can order a copy of your credit report and score for free online.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers,
Jeni

Do these cars need to have an Uber inspection before use?
Nikki Angco
April 05, 2018
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your message and for visiting finder – the leading comparison website & general information service built to give you advice in your buying decision needs. How are you doing today?
The vehicle inspection is performed by both the car Owner and Renter at the time of handover. A proper inspection involves you checking and photographing a number of key areas on the car as well as noting any current damage. All defects and scratches are to be noted and the odometer reading is recorded on the Vehicle Inspection Report. Both parties must sign the Inspection Report. The same applies when the car is returned.
Hope this helps! Feel free to message us anytime should you have further questions.
Cheers,
Nikki

Toll charges are the renters responsibility when renting a car for an Uber purpose. Is the toll not added to the trip when taking a passenger?
May Finder
December 25, 2017
Hi Ted,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Typically, toll surcharges are charged to riders and reimbursed to the driver/Uber partner, as detailed in the payment statement. Please also note that tolls and other road surcharges are only paid when a rider is in the car. It will not apply to toll charges incurred when you’re en route to a rider or after you’ve dropped them off.
Hope this has answered your question.
Cheers,
May
