Events happening over the Easter long weekend in Adelaide
- Easter Coastal Bunny Run: The popular Bunny Run is back for another year. There are trophies up for grabs and with part of the proceeds going to Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bravehearts charities, you can't go wrong. Runs 20 April.
- Easter Long Weekend at Mick O'Shea's: Each year Mick O'Shea's hosts fun for the whole family with food and drink specials, live music, face painting, happy hour and an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday.
- Meadows Easter Fair: Meadows will be home to a 4-day Easter Fair featuring a treasure market with nearly 100 stores selling local wares as well as food and drink. Runs 18-21 April. Free entry.
- Jetty Road Easter Egg Hunt: Chocolate will be eaten this Easter and one of the best places to go hunting for some is Jimmy Melrose Park. This free event has something for everyone from hidden choccies to gift vouchers. Bookings are required. 19 April at 11:00am - 5:30pm. It's not happening over Easter long weekend but we reckon it's worth pointing out here in case you can make it.
- Art Gallery of South Australia exhibitions: Head to the home of art in Adelaide over the Easter weekend. Experience incredible works like Andy Warhol and Photography: A Social Media and Rethinking Australian Art which looks at home art changed after the second World War. Select exhibitions are ticketed.
- The Easter Market Trail for Kids: Head to the Adelaide Central Market and you'll not only tuck into some of the best local eats in town but the kids can have a ball following the Market Trail to pick up free goodies, including chocolate milk and Easter eggs. 17 April from 2-6pm.
Free things to do in Adelaide over the Easter long weekend
- Have a picnic in Adelaide's Botanic Gardens. Set up in one of the garden's sheltered picnic spots or roll out a rug somewhere in the shade.
- Visit the Art Gallery of South Australia. Entry to the Gallery and most of its exhibitions is free.
- Take a free tour of the South Australian Museum. Learn more about Indigenous culture and artefacts, see the bones of dinosaurs and more.
- Go on a walk in North Terrace. See the historic buildings from a period earlier in Adelaide's history.
- Relax on the city's best beaches. Visit Glenelg, Henley Beach, Brighton Beach and more for a day in the sun.
- People watch in Rundle Mall. In the heart of the city, check out sculptures like The Mall's Balls, A Day Out featuring the 4 bronze pigs and other works like the Rundle Lantern.
