If you bring a family or friend across to Momentum Energy, the provider will give you both a $50 credit towards a future bill.
All you need to do to take advantage of this deal is to give them your bill number and get them to enter it when they sign up to the provider.
As long as they live in a different address to yours, Momentum Energy will give both of you bonus credit.
💵 SmoothPay
Opting for SmoothPay with Momentum will allow you to have consistent payments and avoid energy bill shock.
It will estimate your yearly energy usage and let you pay a flat bill weekly, fortnightly or on a monthly basis, depending on your preferred frequency.
Good to know: Payments may fluctuate in the beginning if Momentum doesn't have enough of your usage details to make estimates. It will tell you of any changes beforehand.
🚛 Move-in insurance
Momentum Energy will give you $100 credit on your bill if it doesn't sort your connection within the given timeframe.
If you ring before 12pm on a business day, you'll get your power sorted the next day. If you sign up after 12pm it will be 2 business days.
However, if Momentum misses this timing, it will pay you for the inconvenience.
Solar Energy
How much does Momentum Energy pay for solar feed-in tariff?
Momentum doesn't offer dedicated solar plans but you can access feed-in tariffs on its normal electricity plans.

Greenpeace's 2022 Green Electricity Guide ranked Momentum Energy as the second greenest energy provider in Australia.
This is because the company is owned by Hydro Tasmania which generates renewable electricity. However, Hydro Tasmania also owns 2 large gas power stations as backup for when there's low rainfall, which works against its score.
According to the report, Momentum also scores well for its targets to end coal use by 2030, halting fossil fuel expansion, supporting renewables and for transparency in marketing.
Adding on GreenPower
You can further support green energy by adding on GreenPower for an extra fee. Momentum will offset your power usage by purchasing the same amount of renewable energy from an accredited source.
You can match between 10% to 100% of your energy consumption which will be charged at an additional 4.95 cents per kWh.
