Our experts compared over 280 mobile phone plans from 48 providers to help you find the best of the best for 2025.

Finder's Mobile Awards showcase the best providers across different categories such as prepaid and postpaid mobile plans for both value and high data. We also have awards for budget-conscious Aussies and those looking for a long-expiry prepaid plan.

Winners and those highly commended for each category were chosen by a value score that ranks factors such as how much their plans cost per day, daily cost per gigabyte, network coverage, inclusion of international calls and data rollover.

Best Unlimited Data Mobile Provider: felix mobile

It's a hat trick! For the third year in a row, felix mobile has been crowned the best mobile provider for unlimited data in the Finder Mobile Awards. Its Unlimited Data Plan received an overall score of 9.9 out of 10. With an average annual cost of $599, it is also signficantly cheaper than the other finalists.

Best High Data Mobile Provider: Moose Mobile

Best High Data Mobile Provider badge

Moose Mobile has been crowned the best High Data Mobile Provider at this year's awards with an overall score of 9.2 out of 10. Its $55.80 SIM-only plan provides 220GB of monthly data on Optus' 4G and 5G networks with no lock-in contracts. You can also bank up to 200GB of unused data.

Swoop

Swoop has received a highly commended award at this year's Finder Mobile Awards in the High Data Mobile Provider category. It received an overall score of 9.1 out of 10 off the back of generous data allowances (up to 220GB) and access to Optus' 5G network.

Belong Mobile

Belong Mobile placed third overall in the High Data Mobile Provider category with an overall score of 9.0 out of 10. Its top plan comes with 160GB of data on Telstra's wholesale network with access to 5G. You also get to keep all your unused data, making this a great choice if you like to store data for a rainy day.

Best Value Mobile Provider: Moose Mobile

Best Value Mobile Provider badge

Moose Mobile has emerged as Australia's best value mobile provider at this year's Finder Awards. It received an incredible score of 9.9 out of 10 from our judges for this metric. Its 27GB plan costs just $26.80 per month which and comes with plenty of perks, including 200GB data banking.

Highly commended

SpinTel

For the second year in a row, SpinTel has received a highly commended award in the Best Value Mobile Provider category. Its 25GB plan costs just $14 a month, which works out to around 50 cents per gigabyte. SpinTel runs on the Optus network with access to 5G in supported areas.

TPG

TPG has won a highly commended award for its $25 25GB plan which runs on the Vodafone network. With a value score of 9.5 out of 10, it represents phenomenal bang for buck.

Best Long Expiry Prepaid Mobile Provider: Kogan Mobile

Best Long Expiry Prepaid Mobile Provider badge

Kogan's Extra Large 365 Days plan has been crowned this year's best long-expiry prepaid plan with a score of 9.9 out of 10. The plan grants you 500GB of data to use across 365 days for $300 along with unlimited standard texts and calls. This is the third year in a row that Kogan has won this category.

Highly commended

Lebara

With a total score of 9.4 out to 10, Lebara has romped into second place in the Long Expiry Prepaid Mobile Provider category. Its Medium 360 Day Plan comes with 260GB of data over 360 days for $250. The plan also comes with international call and text inclusions and access to Vodafone's 5G network where available.

Catch Connect

Catch Connect's 365 Day Plan came in highly commended in the long-expiry plan category - a feat it has achieved two years in a row. Running on the Optus network, it comes with 200GB for $200 which can be used over 365 days.

Best Value SIM Only Mobile Provider: TPG

Best Value SIM Only Mobile Provider badge

TPG has taken out this year's award for best-value SIM only mobile provider. Its TPG Small plan scored 9.5 out of 5 for value, making it the clear winner in this category. Currently, you can cop 50% off this plan for the first 6 months, making it even better value for money.

Highly commended

iiNet

iiNet's 25GB Small Plan placed second in the best-value SIM only category, earning an impressive score of 9.4/10. The plan offers 25GB of data, unlimited calls and texts, and is available at a competitive price of $25 per month (currently down to $12.50 for the first 6 months). While limited to Vodafone's 4G network, you can still get speeds of up to 150Mbps on select devices.

Kogan Mobile

Kogan placed third overall in this category for its $25 Kogan Medium Monthly Plan. While not the cheapest plan Kogan offers, the 40GB allowance (50GB for the first month) provides better bang for buck. It received a score of 9.3 out of 10.

About Finder's Mobile Awards methodology

Finder's Mobile Awards recognise market-leading providers across different categories for value, high data and duration. Winners and highly commended providers are ranked using our proprietary Finder Score based on their cost and data allowance over 12 months, network coverage and other important feature inclusions.

We assessed more than 280 products across 48 providers to determine the winners. Products had to be in the market for the entire 12 month judging period of May 2024 - April 2025.
