The profile varied by age, single policies, policies for couples, policies for families and included a range of domestic and international destinations. We scored each of them on the following features:

  • Accidental death
  • Rearrangement costs
  • Cancellation costs
  • Dental
  • Luggage delay
  • Lost luggage and belongings
  • Personal liability
  • Rental car excess
  • Theft of cash
  • Total and permanent disability
  • Travel documents (international categories only)
  • COVID-19 expenses (international categories only)
  • Hospital cash allowance (international categories only)

From there, we collected and analysed 450 different travel insurance quotes. The winners were then calculated based on a mix of features and pricing.
