About Finder's Car Insurance Awards methodology
Finder's Car Insurance Awards recognises market-leading comprehensive car insurance products, using our proprietary ratings methodology. We compare products from more than 30 providers, assessing products for more than 20 features, including price.
To be eligible for the awards, providers must provide quotes across a number of personas across Australia for comprehensive car insurance products. Quotes were collected for male and female drivers, for ages 20, 30 and 60 years, living in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. The quotes across each of these personas were averaged to determine the average price per provider. The car used in each quote was a 2020 Toyota Corolla Ascent 4 Door Sedan. For every insurer, we selected an excess between $700 and $900.
