Finder has kicked off 2022 with two senior hires in newly created global roles.

Finder has appointed David Chen (left) as Chief Legal Officer and David Meier (right) as Global Vice President (VP) of Product Design, as the global fintech continues to roll out new products and services, focusing on Web 3.0.

David Chen, Chief Legal Officer

Chen joins Finder with extensive legal and commercial experience spanning 18 years, including stints at BPAY, Sypht and Deloitte.

Chen, a specialist in payments and financial service regulation, has helped build and grow technology companies, from innovative local startups through to global players. In 2018, Chen helped BPAY launch Osko, the first real time payment service that is used by most Australian consumers and businesses to make payments today.

Chen will be responsible for overseeing Finder's risk, regulation and compliance teams as the fintech looks to shape cryptocurrency regulation in Australia, and explore ways to help its users globally take advantage of emerging financial products.

A passionate advocate for new technologies, Chen said the opportunity to join Finder in a newly created global role was an attractive proposition.

"Finder is one of those rare genuine values-led organisations, and I'm very much aligned with its mission to help people make better financial decisions.

"I look forward to leveraging my broad legal and commercial skillset to help Finder continue to build and scale at pace."

David Meier, Global VP, Product Design

An experienced leader in product design for technology-led businesses, Meier joins Finder from his most recent role as Director of Product and Experience Design at Zip Co, where he played a crucial role in the release of 'Tap & Zip', a product that drove exponential transactional growth. Prior to this Meier headed up product design for Domain.

Similar to Chen, Meier was attracted to contributing to Finder's mission to empower people to make better financial decisions.

"Finder has built unparalleled success in the product and service comparison space. Building on this success at a global scale is exciting – but it was speaking to the founders Jeremy Cabral, Fred Schebesta and Frank Restuccia about their ambitious mission that made me sure Finder was the right career move."

Finder is positioned to become a global fintech player following recent product releases focused on growing member's wealth through crypto and other investment products.

"It's products like this that excite me in terms of the potential Finder has to help people take control of their financial freedom. We're literally on the cusp of a financial revolution, where democratisation of finance lays on the horizon, and we're in a position to help our customers join the dots."

Finder continues global growth trajectory

Frank Restuccia, founder and Global co-CEO of Finder, said Chen and Meier's backgrounds in high-growth technology-led businesses made them both standout recruits.

"The next 12 months will be crucial to gaining competitive advantage in Web 3.0, and we know we need to move quickly to stay ahead of the market.

"We want to make sure we have the best talent and leaders on board to help us move towards not only helping people save money but invest and make money too."
