General information only. All forms of investments (and in particular, trading CFDs, commodities and forex) carry significant risk, including the risk of losing more than the invested amounts, market volatility and liquidity risks. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Such activities are not suitable for most investors.

Our verdict

We look at the CFD platforms fees and features and run through some of the pros and cons.

Avatrade is a global CFD trading platform that will appeal to a range of traders. It has a number of features that may appeal to new CFD traders, including copy trading, unique research tools and some solid educational resources. Added to this is low spreads, low minimum funding requirements and competitive trading fees.

On the downside it lacks the extensive range of financial products that some other providers have. And as a CFD provider, it's also not suitable for beginner investors. CFDs are complex financial products best suited to experienced investors.

Pros

  • 24-hour customer support available plus dedicated account managers
  • Educational resources available
  • Choice of platforms to suit newer CFD traders and advanced traders
  • Free demo account available

Cons

  • Can't access as many financial products as other trading platforms in the market
  • Spreads aren't as competitive as some other trading platforms in the market
  • You can't directly buy stocks - all stocks are traded with CFDs
