Klaytn is an enterprise-grade blockchain platform designed for the building and distribution of decentralised applications. According to Gemini, the blockchain is comparable to Ethereum and focuses on developing a flexible platform for developers so that businesses can build service-focused blockchains on top of the Klaytn mainchain. The service-focused blockchains are referred to as Service Chains and allow any service-based application to utilise blockchain technology.
The KLAY token is the fuel and security of the Klaytn network. It is used for transaction fees when a decentralised application creates or executes a smart contract on the network. KLAY tokens are also distributed to contributors of the network.
