Hi there,

Qantas can cover rent if you add this option to your home insurance policy. It’s listed under ‘Landlord Options’ and is called ‘Tenant Default Cover’.

For damage cover – this can mean a few things. If you’re referring to malicious damage done by your tenants, then this can be covered if you add it as an optional extra. Again, it’s located under ‘Landlord Options’ and is called ‘Theft and malicious damage by tenants and their visitors’. If you’re referring to more general damage that comes from external events like fires and storms – this should be covered by default as long as you have building/home cover. You can see what’s covered by Qantas in their product disclosure statement here: https://insurance.qantas.com/policy-documents/home-insurance
