AIA Vitality

Learn about the benefits of AIA Vitality's health and wellbeing programme and see how you can take advantage of member perks and discounts of up to 50%.

Key takeaways

  • AIA Vitality is a wellbeing program that rewards your healthy lifestyle with discounted premiums and other rewards.
  • AIA Vitality is available to most members of AIA health and life insurance, as well as some other programs.
  • It's a win win if you like AIA's products - you'll benefit, but also be less likely to claim.

How the AIA Vitality program works

After you purchase an eligible AIA life insurance policy, you’re automatically eligible to sign up for AIA Vitality. The program is also available on some health insurance policies too.

The key features vary based on what product you hold, but are generally the following:

1. Discounts on your life insurance policy

  • Receive an immediate discount on your policy as soon as you sign up.
  • Enjoy ongoing premium discounts: Your initial premium discount is only temporary, and the only way to keep it is by earning enough Vitality points for gold status. If you haven't reached gold, your discount gets reduced little by little every year. With gold status, your discount remains the same. With platinum status, your discount can actually increase.
  • You'll also get access to an online members hub where you can track your fitness levels and learn how to improve your health.

2. Extra rewards for staying active (Vitality points)

After signing up, the program encourages you to stay active by offering a point earning system to unlock more rewards:

  • ‘Vitality Points’ makes learning about your health fun. It feels like a game by letting you earn points for various fitness-related tasks like taking an online health assessment or getting a dental check up. The more points you earn, the higher your membership status becomes: you start out at bronze and can move up to silver, gold and platinum.
  • A great variety of rewards are offered. The higher your membership status becomes, the more rewards you can earn. For example, a discounted Fitbit.

3. Exclusive rewards for simply being a member

You'll get access to some automatic rewards as an AIA Vitality member. These currently include:

  • Up to 50% off movie vouchers
  • Up to 50% cash back on eligible domestic and international flights
  • Up to 50% off spa and beauty e-Gift cards
  • Discounts on gym memberships at Fitness First, Anytime Fitness and Virgin Active

How the AIA Vitality points system works

The AIA Vitality program uses a points system to encourage you to remain fit and active. The more points you earn, the higher your status becomes. And the higher your status becomes, the more rewards you can unlock.

Here’s how many points you need to reach each status:

  • Bronze. None. You start off at bronze when you join.
  • Silver. 10,000 points.
  • Gold. 20,000 points.
  • Platinum. 30,000 points.

How can I earn points in the AIA Vitality program?

Points can be earned in two ways:

Knowing your health

In order to get healthier, you first have to know what your health status is. Members can earn points by completing a number of educational health assessments, such as the mental wellbeing assessment, weight and height assessment, dental check up, or even receiving a flu vaccination.

Improving your health

The active steps you take to get healthier can entitle you to more reward points. Going to the gym, going for a walk, run or meditating can earn you points. Discounts with partners like Anytime Fitness and Fitbit can also help you improve your health.

What life insurance benefits can I get from AIA Vitality?

The most substantial reward offered under AIA Vitality is in the reduction of life insurance premiums. Members who sign up for a lump sum policy receive an initial annual discount of 12.5% off premiums. This annual discount increases (to a maximum of 20%) as you move up through the membership tiers.
