The simplest and best money trick

"Compounding is like a magic trick that makes your money grow faster, or your debt grow bigger. Either way, it means that small, consistent efforts – even as little as paying $20 extra into your mortgage, super or savings each week – can make a big impact down the track."

Don't let that rise go to your head

"Try not to increase your spending as your income increases. Treat yourself and celebrate, but don't let your pay rise be completely consumed by your new lifestyle. Instead, try stick to your pre-pay-rise budget and consider putting the extra income into your savings, super or investments."

Not investing now? You're already late

"It's never too early to start investing. Just because you don't have thousands of dollars doesn't mean you can't invest. You can start micro-investing with less than $100."

Buy a low depreciation car.

"Cars lose value as soon as you take ownership of them. The amount of depreciation your car suffers depends on things like how popular it is, the specific model, its condition and even the colour. Research which models retain the most value through your loan period so you can minimise your losses."

The path to successful saving

"Choose an amount to save each month that's comfortable for you. Try to be consistent, but don't be disheartened if one month you can't manage it - save what you can. Every dollar is a step closer to your savings goals."

My top home loan hacks

"A home loan feels like a massive debt. But if you use it well it's a great financial asset too. The biggest debt you'll ever have works out cheaper when you lower your interest rate by shopping around. And an offset account gives you all the benefits of a bank account while reducing your interest charges for every dollar you save."

      Hi Tim,

      Thanks for your question.

You may compare super fund fees and performance returns on our guide to Superannuation Funds
and to learn more about how it works and the types of super funds and the different investment options available.

      Cheers,

      Hi Billa,

      Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately none of our featured retailers are currently selling metal detectors. You may want to try eBay or from their official website. Sorry that I couldn’t be much of an assistance.

      All the best,
      Shirley

      Hi Betty,

      Thanks for your question.

You can refer to our list of lenders that offer business loans. Please keep in mind that the majority of lenders will require you to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and that you need to be residing in Australia on some sort of visa while repaying your loan. You can review the eligibility criteria on the review pages of each loan. You can select the “Go to Site” button of your preferred lender to proceed with your application. You can also contact the provider if you have specific questions. A gentle reminder, please ensure to read through the relevant product disclosure statement and terms and conditions to ensure that you got everything covered before you apply.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,
      Elizabeth

      Hi Hamadou,

      Thanks for your question.

If you would like to send money to Burkina as financial assistance, you may want to browse through our international money transfers page.

However, since finder.com.au is an Australian comparison service, we are unable to recommend local organizations that offer financial assistance.

      Cheers,
      Shirley
