1 and 2: Gas and electricity
As of March 2022, the aptly-named 1st Energy became the first energy provider in Australia to accept crypto payments for gas and electricity.
Now, customers can pay for their energy using Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Shiba Inu, Wrapped Bitcoin, XRP or 1 of 5 USD-pegged stable coins.
Residential and business accounts are both eligible for crypto payments. 1st Energy is currently operating across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia so it's a widespread offering too.
The brand is also running a sign-up incentive right now. Switch your gas and electricity to 1st Energy before 15 June 2022, register for the weekly competition, and you could go in the running to win 10,000,000 Shiba Inu coins.
3 and 4: Coffee and cakes
Even your morning coffee can be paid for in crypto – in certain spots anyway. Mr Pilgrim, Altius Coffee Brewers and Breakfast at Timothy's are among the Melbourne cafes accepting crypto.
Sydneysiders can also spend their crypto at various coffee spots, including cult bakery Black Star, Greenhouse Cafe, and Cat & Cow Coffee.
5 and 6: Food and booze
Crypto also covers dining (and drinking) out as a handful of bars and restaurants across the country now accept crypto payments.
Sydney has the most to choose from, including The Old Fitzroy Hotel, which offers booze, food and theatre tickets, plus cocktail bars Since I Left You and The Dock.
7 and 8: Health and beauty treatments
With clinics across Sydney, Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia is a major cosmetic and medical care provider that offers a variety of treatments.
Services vary from gynaecology, scar removal and anti-snoring treatments to cosmetic injectables, microneedling and non-surgical rhinoplasty. All of these can be paid for in Bitcoin.
9 and 10: Tours and attractions
Pineapple Tours is among the tourism operators accepting crypto. It currently specialises in wine, brewery and distilling tours in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Byron Bay areas.
Bowral-based Tractorless Vineyard, which operates on a sustainable farming system, also accepts Bitcoin, Cardano, Ethereum, Litecoin and Monero.
