At select venues around Australia – including Rod Laver Arena, Qudos, ICC Sydney Theatre and Brisbane Entertainment Centre – you can present your American Express Card to unlock Member-only access to the American Express Entertainment Lounge.¹

  1. American Express Card Member Entertainment Lounge Access

  To gain access to the American Express Lounge at Qudos Bank Arena, Rod Laver Arena, ICC Sydney Theatre and Brisbane Entertainment Centre simply show your American Express Card at the door.

  Please note:

  • Entertainment Lounges open from the time main venue doors open, and close at the start of the main act
  • Each Primary and Additional Card Member may invite up to 3 guests into the lounge (Centurion and Platinum Charge Card Members may invite up to 5 guests)
  • Entry is subject to capacity and granted on a first come first served basis. Wait times may apply.
  • American Express has a no tolerance policy in relation to inappropriate behaviour at any American Express venues or sponsored events (Locations). This includes (but is not limited to) any level of abusive, aggressive or offensive behaviour toward any American Express or partner employee, or any other guests. American Express also promotes responsible consumption of alcohol at its Locations. Should you or any of your guests exhibit (what we deem to be) inappropriate behaviour at any American Express Location, we reserve the right to cancel your American Express card(s) immediately.

  2. American Express Card Member Express Cloaking Benefit Terms & Conditions

  To access the Amex Card Member Express Cloaking at Qudos Bank Arena, ICC Sydney Theatre and Brisbane Entertainment Centre, simply use the express queue and show your American Express Card at the Cloak Room. Please note:

  • The Amex Express Cloaking queue is available from the venue external door opening and closing. Timings vary for each event and can be accessed on the venue website.
  • Each Primary and Additional American Express Card Member can receive Express Cloaking access for up to three (3) guests (Primary and Additional Centurion and Platinum Charge Card Members can cloak up to 5 guests)
  • Express entry for Amex Express Cloaking is granted on a first come first served basis. Wait times may apply.
  • American Express bear no liability for the operation of the Card Member 'Express Cloaking' Benefit, or any loss or damage to their property held at partner venues. All operations of this activity are provided by the venue and are subject to venue cloaking requirements.
  • American Express has a no tolerance policy in relation to inappropriate behaviour at any American Express venues, partner venues or sponsored events (Locations). This includes (but is not limited to) any level of abusive, aggressive or offensive behaviour toward any American Express or partner employee, or any other guests.   3. The Amex Garden Ticket Offer – 10% off tickets at select events in The Amex Garden:

  • Ticket offer available to eligible American Express Card Members from 2 December 2024 to 31 December 2025.
  • American Express Card Members will have an opportunity to purchase tickets to The Amex Garden at select events at a discount, via The Amex Garden website. This discount will be 10% off the total ticket cost for up to 4 tickets per Card Member (excluding booking and admin fees).
  • Ticket offer does not include any tickets outside of The Amex Garden. Ticket offer is ticket only and does not include any food, beverages or VIP packages.
  • Card Members must purchase and pay for their tickets through The Amex Garden website using an eligible Australian issued American Express Card through the American Express Card Member journey. Eligible Cards include American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited.

  • American Express does not charge an additional fee for obtaining tickets, however standard handling, booking or transaction fees may apply from individual ticketing agents.
  • American Express provides information about the offers that is correct at the time of publication.
  • Offers are subject to Terms and Conditions of the relevant participating merchants or promoters providing the offer.
  • American Express does not provide any of the good and services relating to the offer and does not make representations or warranties in respect of the offer, goods or services.
  • Relevant ticketing agencies and/or promoter are solely responsible for offer redemption and fulfilment. In the case of an event cancellation, the relevant ticketing agency and/or promoter of the event are solely responsible for any refunds, exchanges or make good of the ticket purchase price.
  • If American Express purchases a ticket on your behalf, the relevant ticketing agencies and/or promoter are solely responsible for facilitating the offer redemption and fulfilment.
  • American Express may modify or remove this offer at any time without prior notice.

  4. Membership Rewards. Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Membership Rewards program available here. You will earn 1 point per dollar spent with Merchants classified as 'government', including the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation (Australia Post), Federal/State and Local Government bodies, including where you use a payment account, payment aggregator, services of a third party or online retailers that sell goods for another merchant.

  5. Cover Charges with Points.

  • For each successful transaction with covered with points, points will be debited from your Membership Rewards account and a credit placed on your Card in line with the points chosen to be used for the Eligible Charge. A minimum of 1,000 Membership Rewards points is required to cover any eligible transaction with points. Any credit to your Card account cannot exceed the amount of the relevant Eligible Charges. A credit will appear on your statement identified as "Membership Rewards Credit". Points will be debited immediately and the credit will take up to 3 business days to appear online. Credits processed after the Card account's statement closing date will appear in the following statement. You are still responsible for payment of the amount due on your Card account by the due date. Any charges covered by points is not redeemable for cash via Credit balance refund.

  • American Express will select and display each eligible charge that can be covered with points ("Eligible Charge") and the points rate required to cover the Eligible Charge. Each Eligible Charge must: (a) appear within the Online Statement of the Summary of Accounts page; (b) be redeemed within 2 months of the charge appearing on your Card account; (c) not currently or have previously been disputed; and (d) not be a fee.

  • Eligible Charges, including the points rate required to pay for the Eligible Charge, may be changed at any time without notice. Eligible transactions can be covered by points via your online account or American Express mobile app. Covering charges with points is available only to Basic Cardmembers enrolled in the Australian Membership Rewards program and is subject to the full Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions. Authorised agents, authorised account managers, additional Cardmembers and Authorised Additional Cardmembers are not eligible. All Linked Card accounts must be in good standing.

  6. Points for Airline Rewards

  To redeem points to any Frequent Traveller Program you must be a member of the applicable Program. Enrolment in such Programs is solely your responsibility and fees may apply. The minimum requirement and transfer rate varies. Subject to the Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions.

  7. Access to the American Express Airport Lounges

  The following Terms and Conditions govern the entry to the American Express Centurion® Lounges at the Sydney International Airport and the Melbourne International Airport.

  Eligible Cards

  (a) The Cards listed below that are current and issued by American Express Australia Limited and American Express International (NZ), are eligible to enter The Centurion Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne International Airports:

  American Express® Corporate Platinum Card

  American Express Explorer® Credit Card

  (b) Internationally issued American Express® Centurion and American Express® Platinum Cards that are current are eligible to enter The Centurion Lounge.

  At the discretion of American Express, other American Express Card Members may also enter The Centurion Lounges.

  Access to The Centurion Lounge

  (a) American Express Centurion, American Express Platinum, American Express Business Platinum and American Express Corporate Platinum Card Members, have unlimited complimentary access to The Centurion Lounges for each American Express Card Account and are entitled to bring their children 17 years of age or younger and up to 2 guests into the lounge. Card Members wishing to bring additional guests will be subject to a charge that is to be processed on the Card Member's American Express Card. Please refer to the reception desk at The Centurion Lounge for the applicable charges.

  (b) All other eligible cards are entitled to a total of two entries into The Centurion Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne per calendar year (1st January to 31st December). The entries may be used by the Primary Card Member, Additional Card Member or a guest travelling with a Card Member. Complimentary access is available for the Card Member's children 17 years of age or younger. Card Members wishing to bring additional guests will be subject to a charge that is to be processed on the Card Member's American Express Card. Please refer to the reception desk at The Centurion Lounge for the applicable charges.

  General Conditions of Entry

  (a) The Centurion Lounge at Sydney International Airport and Melbourne International Airport are operated by Plaza Premium Lounge Management ("Lounge Operator"). To access The Centurion Lounge, Card Members must present the following upon each visit their eligible physical American Express Credit or Charge Card and upon request, same-day airline ticket on any carrier.

  (b) A Card Member must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian.

  (c) The Lounge Operator reserves the right to remove any person from a lounge for inappropriate behaviour or failure to adhere to lounge rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent.

  (d) Access to The Centurion Lounges is subject to space availability. The Centurion Lounge hours may vary and are subject to change without prior notice. Amenities may vary among The Centurion Lounge locations and are subject to change. In-lounge services and amenities are complimentary.

  (e) American Express will not be liable for any articles lost or stolen or damages suffered by the Card Member or visitor inside the American Express Lounges.

  (f) Use of The Centurion Lounges is subject to all rules and conditions set by American Express and the Lounge Operator. American Express reserves the right to revise the rules at any time without notice.

  8. Travel Credit Benefit

  If your Card has a Travel Credit benefit, the Primary Card Member is eligible for an annual Travel Credit, subject to the full Travel Credit Terms and Conditions. The Travel Credit can be redeemed through American Express Travel Online on a single eligible travel booking by selecting the Travel Credit when you checkout. To redeem the Travel Credit, the full value of the Travel Credit (or more) must be charged to the eligible Primary Card. Eligible travel includes flights, hotels and car hire when you prepay in advance. The Travel Credit can be used for 365 days from the benefit anniversary date and cannot be used past the expiration date. To check the expiration date of your Travel Credit if you have not already redeemed it, please visit americanexpress.com.au/travel; log in and click 'Travel Credit . If your booking is cancelled, and your Travel Credit has already been used and associated statement credit applied to your account, you will forfeit your annual Travel Credit benefit and American Express may reverse the statement credits issued. You need to be able to spend on the Card to access the Travel Credit benefit and it should be credited to your Card Account within 3 business days but may take up to 30 days. Your account must be in good standing and you must have paid the annual fee and minimum payment by the due date. If you cancel your Card, change your rewards program or Card type, you will no longer be eligible for the Travel Credit.

  9. Gift Cards

  Gift Card or voucher rewards are not redeemable or exchangeable for cash or credit and are valid for a period of minimum 3 years from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. We are not responsible if any Gift Card is lost, stolen, or destroyed, or the Gift Card is used without your permission. Membership Reward terms and conditions apply.   10. Online Purchases

  You may use Points to make purchases at certain retailers listed on our website. You need to indicate at the time of purchase that you wish to Pay with Points. Individual retailers provide specific delivery and refund polices. Refund policies for Pay with Points retail Partners are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the retail Partner. The retailers' conditions and refund policies may be amended by the retailers from time to time.
