Save $180 by finding the right mobile plan | Dollar Saver tip #69
Save: up to $180
Tip overview
Want a quick way to save money? It doesn't get easier than switching mobile plans to lock in extra savings for the year.
According to the ACCC's most recent Internet Activity Report, people only use an average of 12.8GB of data each month. Yet, providers offer plans with hundreds of gigabytes that are likely going to waste.
We also found the average cost of monthly mobile plans on Finder that come with 20GB of data or more is $44 a month.
But plans with 15-20GB of monthly data cost around $29 a month, meaning you could save up to $180 a year by switching to a lower data plan.
For the average Aussie, 15-20GB is a safe amount of data allowance based on the ACCC's findings.
