Our verdict

Reduce your interest costs with a low introductory purchase interest rate and earn Qantas Points as you spend.

The Qudos Bank Visa Platinum credit card is suited to people who want to earn points while saving on interest costs. This card offers a competitive points earn rate, but you should consider how the reduced earn rate after you spend $2,500 each month could impact your overall points potential. This card charges a relatively high annual fee, especially when compared to other Qantas Frequent Flyer credit cards that offer bonus points as well as competitive earn rates. Make sure that you’re taking full advantage of the rewards and card features to help outweigh this cost.

Pros

  • 4.99% p.a. for 5 months on balance transfers, purchases and cash advances
  • Complimentary overseas travel insurance
  • Free additional cardholder

Cons

  • The $2,500 spend cap before the lower earn rate kicks in is relatively low
  • High standard annual fee of $199 p.a.
  • Relatively high 19.49% interest rate
  • No interest-free offer on purchases or balance transfers

Hi Ally,

Thanks for your question. The Qantas Credit Union Visa Platinum card doesn’t list a set minimum income requirement. Instead, they’ll assess your application based on a few factors including income and credit history.

Before applying, you may wish to get in touch with the Qantas Credit Union customer service team to discuss your likelihood of approval.

I hope this has helped.

Cheers,

Sally

Hi Jenny, thanks for your inquiry!

The points earnings on this card are uncapped. Unfortunately any fee or charge, including any government charges and cash advances (bill payments) are exempt from points accumulation.

Cheers,

Jonathan
