What do they mean with Rewards Points Cap?

Is that earned p.a., p.m, or max points one can accumulate?

Tx 😊

Hi Seth,

With this card the rewards point cap refers to an annual limit. It’s a bit complicated but basically you earn 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent, capped after you spend $100,000 a year. It resets annually.

Could you clarify whether the required spending amount is $3000 each month for three months, total of approximately $9000 over 90 days, or if $3000 is the total amount to be spent over the 90 days?

Thanks.

Hi Neidi, It’s a total of $3,000 over 3 months.

Are there any restrictions on the bonus Frequent Flyer points (e.g. if i received bonus points from another card in the last 12 mths)?

Hi Timothy,

You can earn as many bonus points with as many different providers as you are eligible and approved for!

There might be terms and conditions within each provider; for instance, Qantas Premier Platinum Mastercard regularly offers bonuses of up to 10,000 points for taking out a payment instalment plan, but this is limited to one bonus offer per month. Also if you are eligible for and receive an AMEX bonus with one bank, there may be terms and conditions that make you ineligible for another AMEX offer within 12 months, even with a different bank.

Hope this helps!

with regards to the minumum 3k spend on eligible purchases, is school fees considered eligible purchase?

Hi Zhette,

Eligible spending usually means everyday spending: groceries, coffees, lunches, shopping, concert tickets, transport fares, ubers, travel etc. School fees should be fine as part of that spending.

Ineligible spending usually includes things like cash advances, online gambling, interest payments, fees, refunds etc.

Hope this helps!

With reference to the minimum $3K spend on eligible purchases, what are eligible purchases? I cannot find this anywhere in the terms and conditions.

Hi Charlie,

Eligible purchases include everyday spending on things like groceries, accomodation, flights, concert tickets, shopping, takeaways and coffees. Eligible purchases generally don’t include things like cash advances, interest charges, gambling, BPAY payments and balance transfers.

Hope this helps!
