The good news is phone providers don't lock you into contracts anymore so you can leave whenever you want. Just pay off the remaining cost of your device before you exit

What's the cheapest iPhone 13 plan?

Telstra, Optus and Vodafone all offer iPhone 13 plans with varying amounts of mobile data allowances.

However, if you want to pay the bare minimum, you can check Telstra or Vodafone - both are offering the iPhone 13 (128GB) for $30.52 per month on a 36-month repayment contract.

Telstra offers 50GB of data for $62 per month while Vodafone offers 80GB of data for $45 per month (data reverts to 40GB after your first month). Choosing the right plan to go with your device will solely depend on your needs.

Keep in mind Vodafone is known for having the least coverage from the networks, so if you're in a rural or regional area, you may want to look elsewhere.

Should I buy the iPhone outright instead?

If you're not convinced getting the iPhone 13 on a plan is the right decision for you, you could consider buying it outright.

Overall, paying upfront is always going to be the cheaper option as you can pair it with a cheaper mobile plan of your choice. However, getting on a phone contract means you can manage your money in easier to pay off instalments.

Which provider offers the best iPhone 13 deals?

The best deal for you will depend on the network coverage you're after, how much data allowance you want and what bells and whistles most match your everyday needs.

Here's a breakdown of what you can get from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

Telstra's iPhone 13 plans and offers

There are currently no active promotions available with an iPhone 13 from Telstra, but you can still expect the following features on its mobile plans:

  • Access to Australia's largest 4G and 5G networks
  • Data sharing with up to 10 upfront mobile or data services linked to your account.
  • No excess data charges. Your speeds will be capped at 1.5Mbps once you've used up your data allowance.
  • Unlimited international texts to all countries.
  • 3 months of Telstra Device Security.
  • Access to Spotify premium for 4 months and 2 months of standard BINGE subscription.

Optus iPhone 13 plans and offers

Optus isn't offering any discounts on iPhone 13 with a plan at the moment. However, an Optus plan does still get some perks you can't get elsewhere:

  • Discount Optus Sport. Pay $9.99/mth as an Optus customer. Non-Optus customers pay $24.99/mth
  • Access to Optus SubHub. Manage eligible subscriptions (e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime) and save up to 10%
  • Option to pay your device through OptusPay for an interest free device payment plan. T&Cs apply.

If the plan features above sound appealing, you can get an iPhone 13 plan with Optus' 12, 24 and 36-month handset repayment plans. Other standard features include:

  • 5G network access on all plans.
  • Endless data. Your speeds will be capped at 1.5Mbps once you've chewed through your monthly data allowance.

Just remember that leaving before your repayment period ends means you'll need to pay off the remaining cost of your device.

Vodafone's iPhone 13 plans and offers

With the iPhone 13 being slowly phased out in Australia, Vodafone actually doesn't offer the handset anymore. You can, however, get an iPhone 14 plan with Vodafone instead.

Is it worth getting an iPhone 13?

If you're not fussed about getting the newer iPhone 14, the iPhone 13 is still a strong phone to consider.
