Along with phone plans, Vodafone offers a variety of internet services: NBN, home wireless and mobile broadband plans.
While this means you have plenty of home internet options to choose from, keep in mind that Vodafone's mobile coverage is the least of the 3 networks so make sure you're within its footprint before you sign up.
The main advantage to signing up to Vodafone is the exclusive discounts and bundling options for its customers. Existing Vodafone mobile customers get discounted pricing on NBN and home wireless plans, making it a lot more valuable.
Vodafone is right for you if:
On the other hand, keep in mind that Vodafone:
Based on Vodafone NBN scores in Finder's 2024 Customer Satisfaction Awards.
Vodafone has plans on all speed tiers between NBN 25 and NBN 1000.
If you already have a phone plan with Vodafone, you can get a $5 discount per month on your NBN bill. The discount makes Vodafone's plans a lot more attractive in price. However, without the discount, you could find cheaper options with faster speeds elsewhere.
Vodafone NBN plans come with the option to BYO modem or buy one from it for a maximum cost of $180, which is more expensive than the average modem on Finder.
Vodafone offers both 4G and 5G home wireless plans, depending on the availability at your address.
The 4G Home Wireless plan offers unlimited data at speeds up to 20Mbps. The 5G Home Internet plan also offers unlimited data but gives you 2 speed options – up to 50Mbps or up to 100Mbps.
The discounts for existing Vodafone customers bring the plan prices down ($10 discount per month for the 4G plan or $5 for the 5G) making it on par with other home wireless plan prices on Finder. You'll also score the first month free if you're thinking of trying before buying.
Vodafone offers competitively priced modem and SIM-only mobile broadband plans, along with prepaid mobile broadband plans.
Red Modem plans are for those who do not have their own modems. You can purchase the modem on an interest-free repayment period of 12, 24 or 36 months. If you cancel your plan before the end of this period, you'll need to pay off your modem in 1 go.
If you're bringing your own modem, you can opt for one of the SIM-only mobile broadband plans. Both Red Modem and SIM-only options offer 30GB, 70GB and 150GB plans.
Prepaid mobile broadband plans on offer are 60GB with 30-day expiry, 90GB with 30-day expiry, 120GB with 30-day expiry, 110GB with 365-day expiry and 250GB with 365-day expiry. Any unused data will roll over when you recharge, capped at 50GB. You can get a $5 discount with every automatic recharge.
In December 2024, Vodafone came 8th out of 12 providers in the ACCC broadband performance report for download speeds during busy hours of the day (7pm–11pm). It delivered maximum speeds 99.9% of the time.
This represents the highest maximum speeds improved from previous positions in the ACCC broadband performance report.
You can reach the Vodafone team in the following ways.
Vodafone offers a number of discounts for its customers:
You can bundle mobile broadband plans with a mobile phone and/or a tablet plan to save on your monthly bill. You can save 5% by bundling 2 plans, 10% by bundling 3 plans, 15% by bundling 4 plans and 20% by bundling 5 plans.
If you're already on a Vodafone phone plan, you can enjoy reduced prices on NBN and home wireless plans. These discounts are ongoing for the life of your plan, making it great long-term value.
iiNet's prices are comparable to Vodafone's. Its NBN 50 and NBN 100 plans come with free Fetch entertainment for 24 months.
For a cheaper option:
Tangerine has some of the cheapest plans on Finder and offers 6-month sign-up discounts to sweeten the deal.
Exetel has topped the ACCC broadband performance report multiple times in 2022. Its plans are also cheaper than Vodafone's, with 6-month sign-up discounts.
Unfortunately, Vodafone internet plans aren't currently available on Finder. To sign up, visit its website www.vodafone.com.au or continue comparing internet plans on Finder to find one better suited for you.
What if I'm moving house?
This is only really relevant for NBN and home wireless plans. You can select a date during the sign-up process for when you'd like your new Vodafone NBN plan to be activated. Keep in mind that it could take up to 5 business days to get connected. Those using home wireless will need to check if their new address is covered on their current plan.
Make sure to give your current provider a heads-up in case there's a notice period to account for. You don't want to be stuck paying for 2 internet services.

Hi Robert, If you want Vodafone installed, you need to apply directly to the company. You might want to compare plans from other providers first to make sure you’re getting the best value for your needs.

Hi Pam,
Depending on what device you’re using and whether you’re making calls and text or are after data, generally your address has good coverage and supports 3G and 3G+.
To test your device and its reception, you can check your Vodafone coverage here: http://www.vodafone.com.au/aboutvodafone/network/checker
Hope that helps,
