Sports streaming in Australia has now evolved to the point where each app is near available on every mobile, tablet, internet browser, gaming console, Smart TV or dedicated streaming hardware like Chromecast or Apple TV. So you'll almost always have a device that allows you to watch it.
Of course there's the odd service that will be available on PlayStation, but not Xbox. Smart TVs that were made prior to 2019 or cheaper brand models also aren't much help without a Chromecast.
However, device availability is constantly growing and is far superior now to when sports streaming first started to develop and wouldn't let you watch on anything more than your phone.
Your biggest challenge might be ensuring your internet plan is up to speed in order to avoid buffering.
The one factor that is common to pretty much every sport streaming service is that you'll need to pay to access it. In some cases, the cost of streaming might be discounted through like Optus Sport if you're an Optus mobile or broadband customer. You can also make use of the free trials that streamers offer. But as a rule, you'll have to pay to watch sports online.
