Hi Eric, To qualify for the bonus points offer, you would need to be approved by 30 October.

Will paying an invoice for work carried out be classed as an eligible purchase?

Hey Stewart,
Westpac defines eligible purchases here. https://www.westpac.com.au/faq/spend-and-save-eligible-purchase/
Couldn’t find a clear answer for your situation and I guess it depends how the invoice is paid. If it’s BPAY or direct debit then no.

Can I use this card for my mortgage payments?
Sarah Megginson Finder
July 26, 2024
Hi Craig,
To use this card to make mortgage payments, you will need to withdraw the money as a cash advance. This means you’ll be paying interest on the money (20%+) from the day you withdraw it, so it’s quite an expensive way to pay your mortgage.

No, with this card, you will not earn points on interest, fees and charges, cash or ATM cash advances, cash equivalent transactions, gambling transactions, BPAY or Post Billpay, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account.

Hi I see your points are only accumulated on what you call approved purchases. I cant find any information on what you deem an approved purchase. Where can I find that information? Thanks

Hi Mick, As the review notes, transactions that won’t earn points include “ATM withdrawals, cash advances, BPAY payments and balance transfers”. Most cards also don’t allow points to be earned on gambling transactions or government payments.

Hi, if I was to apply for this card prior to the 30th October but am not approved until after this date, will I still receive the bonus Qantas points (after meeting the requirements)?
