Everyday Mobile review: Our verdict

Everyday Mobile, or Woolworths Mobile as it was previously known, offers some competitively priced mobile plans.

Whether you choose its Prepaid 30-day, SIM only or long-expiry plan, you'll get some decent value as well as discounts on your shopping.

But Everyday Mobile doesn't suit everyone. Its higher data might not be right for those who don't use their mobiles frequently.

Here's a few reasons why you might like Everyday Mobile:

  • Good value plans that operate on the Telstra wholesale network. You also get an additional Woolworths discount which increases the value of its plans.
  • Up to $50 a month off your Woolworths groceries.
  • Data sharing and banking available on plans.

But watch out for:

  • Higher data limits on its monthly prepaid and SIM only plans might not be the most cost effective for low data users.

Value for money

Everyday Mobile from Woolworths offers decent value across its 30 day prepaid range, but it has a higher starting point than some of its competitors, with the cheapest plan starting from $25 a month.

While it doesn't have a $10 or $15 entry plan like some competitors, just about each of its plans beat the $1 per GB benchmark, making it pretty good value.

All 3 of Everyday Mobile's SIM only plans offer you good value for money.

Starting from $40 a month, the most you'll pay per GB is $0.72, which is well short of the $1 per GB benchmark we like to use to measure plans against. Its most expensive plan, at $60, comes in at $0.50 per GB, which is even better value but might be more data than you need.

This is where Everyday Mobile really shines being one of the best-priced long expiry plans on the Telstra network. You can get up to 200GB of data for $220 on a 365-day plan.

Things to watch out for:

  • 4G and 5G speeds are capped at 100Mbps and 250Mbps respectively, but this shouldn't impact you too much.

coverage icon

Coverage

For those who are looking for wide coverage, Everyday Mobile could suit their needs. This is because:

  • It uses the wholesale Telstra 3G and 4G network, which covers 98.8% of the population. By mid-2024 you will no longer be about to get 3G.
  • This is better coverage than that provided by Optus or Vodafone.
  • Metro customers shouldn't have many problems, but you may run into some reception issues in certain rural or regional areas compared to being on the full Telstra 4G/3G network (which covers 99.5% of Aussies).

Does Everyday Mobile have 5G?

Yes, Everyday Mobile offers 5G connectivity via the Telstra wholesale 5G network on its SIM only plans. However, Telstra's 5G rollout only reaches 75% of the population and you'll need an eligible device to get it working.

customer service icon

Customer service

If you need help from Everyday Mobile or want to resolve an issue, there's a couple ways to get in touch. Support is available between 9am–5pm AEST weekdays, or 10am–3:30pm Saturday. You can:

  • Chat with Mandy, the AI support chatbot. If it can't help you with your problem, you'll be put through to the Woolworths Customer Care team. This is a 24/7 service.
  • Ring up Woolworths for additional support. It doesn't openly advertise this option unless you're in need of financial support.
  • Keep in mind: Even though you can get a Everyday Mobile SIM at Woolies, you most likely won't get in-person mobile support from anyone working there.

bonus icon

Bonus features

Woolworths Mobile has more bonus features than most smaller providers, including:

💸 10% off your Woolworths shop

Continuing this perk from its Woolworths Mobile days, Everyday Mobile will let you claim 10% off your shopping every month, saving up to $50 on your groceries.

🔄 Save or share your excess data

Everyday Mobile has data banking and sharing facilities. This means that you can either save your unused data or give up to 50% of your plans including data to another person.

Keep in mind there's a number of exclusions to the gift giving including on bonus data and data add-on purchased.

What rivals are giving Everyday Mobile a run for its money

Although Everyday Mobile has a great set of plans available, there are some other providers with stiff competition.

For big data:
circles.life logo
Woolworths has some big data plans, but Circles.Life provides plans up to 160GB for about the same price.

For better coverage:

Boost logo

Boost Mobile is the only smaller provider that gets full access to the Telstra 4G network instead of the wholesale version.

For long-term value:
Kogan mobilelogoKogan is on the Vodafone 4G network, but it has excellent long-expiry options that provide more data for less compared to Woolworths' 365-day options.

Ready to sign up to Everyday Mobile

You can easily order a mobile plan online from Everyday Mobile's website or you can also buy a SIM in-store if you don't want to wait around for it to get delivered.

Otherwise, you can keep comparing mobile plans on Finder to discover one that better suits your needs.

phone

What if I want to keep my current phone number?
You can let Everyday Mobile know that you'd like to keep your current number during the activation and sign-up process. It should complete the porting process within 4 hours during business hours.

If your current number is under someone else's name (a parent or a partner), it might involve some more steps. Check our guide on how to transfer ownership of your mobile number.

In 365 easy mobile plan, pHILIPPINES IS NOT INCLUDED IN INTERNATION LIST. wHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET THAT COUNTRY, even by itself as the only international call.

Hi David, this page should be able to narrow down the list of providers that offer international calls to selected countries. https://www.finder.com.au/best-mobile-plans-international-calling. You’ll have to check with the provider directly to see if they offer free calls to the Philippines on their plan. For example, amaysim’s $40 for 80GB mobile plan gives you unlimited international calls to 42 countries including the Phillipines. Lycamobile’s $25 for 30GB plan also gives you unlimited minutes to the Philiipines. Best thing is to go through the page that I’ve linked and look for a price and data point that best meet your needs.
