Our verdict

Pros

  • Our research indicates ROLLiN is one of the most cost-effective car insurers in Australia. Of the 31 insurers we researched, it was second cheapest.
  • Its comprehensive policy includes more benefits than other budget insurers. For example, Bingle does not include a hire car after an accident, ROLLiN' does.
  • Excess-free windscreen, sunroof and window glass damage is included as standard. This is an optional extra for many other comprehensive policies.

Cons

  • Every month, your premium is recalculated and renewed. This means it can increase or decrease from month to month with no indication of what your next bill will look like.
  • ROLLiN' doesn't cover personal effects. Other insurers include up to $1,000 worth of personal effects cover.
  • ROLLiN's unlisted driver excess is a hefty $3,000.

ROLLiN' offers decent coverage for a budget-friendly premium. It's not as thorough as other insurers but this is what you'd expect for a cheaper premium. It covers the basics with accidental damage, legal liability, damage by fire and theft and new car replacement. Plus it includes some benefits you'd typically pay more for, like excess-free windscreen damage. See below for how it compares to other popular insurers.
