We've read all the fine print. Here's how to get an interest-free payment plan, increase your credit limit, cancel your GO Mastercard account and more.
The Latitude GO Mastercard is a credit card that gives you access to long-term 0% payment plans at participating retailers, including Domayne, Harvey Norman and Joyce Mayne. It also offers interest-free days on everyday purchases along with rates and fees for the account.
If you've got a Latitude GO Mastercard or are thinking about getting one, here you'll find answers to some of the most common questions about this credit card.
Top FAQs for the Latitude GO Mastercard
These are the most common questions we're asked about the GO Mastercard. You'll also find answers to other FAQs – organised by topic – in the sections below.
In the credit card conditions of use policy, Latitude Finance says it allows cash equivalent transactions as long as the accepting institution accepts Mastercard. However, Latitude Finance also says it may decline authorisation for any transaction, so it's wise to contact them first to confirm whether or not you can transfer funds from your credit card to your specific bank account.
You can apply for a credit limit increase through the Online Service Centre by logging in, selecting the "Manage my credit limit" option and following the prompts.
You can also use this option to decrease your credit limit via the Online Service Centre. Alternatively, use the Latitude App to decrease your credit limit by going to "Manage account" and then "Reduce credit limit".
If you want to close your GO Mastercard account, you can submit a request online via the Latitude website. Another option is to contact Latitude Finance on 1300 552 079 and ask to have your account closed.
If you have security concerns and want to temporarily block or cancel your Latitude GO Mastercard, call the security hotline on 1800 005 809 in Australia or +61 287 478 178 when overseas. Your current card will then be cancelled and you will be issued with a new one.
To get a 0% Interest Payment Plan in-store, just present your GO Mastercard and photo ID to a sales representative at any participating retailer.
For online purchases, reference your GO Mastercard number or the account number (listed on your statement or via the online service centre) with a participating online store.
There are minimum spending requirements for each 0% Interest Payment Plan. The actual amount varies depending on the retailer and the offer, so check the details before you go ahead with a particular deal.
Interest-free promotions are available at over 1,000 retailers across Australia including Domayne, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Joyce Mayne and Michael Hill Jeweller. You can see a list or map of participating stores on the GO Mastercard website.
Yes, you can have multiple interest-free payment plans up to your available credit limit for the card. Just keep in mind that you'll need to meet the repayment requirements listed on your monthly credit card statement.
The promotional period begins the day of your purchase or on the day it is delivered (where applicable).
The promotional period varies depending on the individual offer you choose. Details of each promotion are available on your statement or online account.
You can continue to use your card for regular purchases, cash advances, or other promotional purchases while you are paying back the bill, up to your spending limit. However, keep in mind that the purchase interest rate for this card is 27.99% p.a. and the cash advance rate is 29.99% p.a., which are very high compared to most other credit cards on the market.
Interest rates and fees
What interest rate will I pay on the Go Mastercard?
Beyond the 0% interest payment plans, the Latitude GO Mastercard has three different interest rates that may be applied depending on the type of balance you have on the card. These are:
Purchase rate. This is the standard rate of interest applied to new purchases if you carry a balance from month to month. It’s currently 27.99% p.a. variable.
Cash advance rate. Withdrawing cash from an ATM, using the card for BPAY or making any other cash advance transactions will attract an interest rate of up to 29.99% p.a.
Expired promotional purchases. This interest rate is applied to 0% Interest Payment Plan purchases when the balance is not paid in full during the promotional period. This rate is currently 29.99% p.a.
Yes. The Latitude GO Mastercard offers up to 55 days interest-free on standard purchases if you have paid the balance off in full for both the statement before the purchases were made and for the statement on which the purchases are listed.
Yes. The standard interest-free days are available as long as you also pay them off before the end of their respective promotional periods.
Repayments to the card are allocated to the portion of the balance that attracts the highest rate of interest first. In this case, that means the purchase that is attracting interest will be paid off first, with any remaining money going toward the balance that is not being charged interest.
You can avoid paying interest by paying your bill in full each month if you have made regular purchases with your GO Mastercard. If you have only made promotional purchases you must pay them off before the end of that promotional period to avoid interest.
What fees will I pay with the GO Mastercard?
The different fees you could be charged with a Latitude GO Mastercard are listed below, including details of when they apply:
Account servicing fee. This card charges a fee of $10.95 per month if your balance is over $10.
Paper statement fee. If you request a printed statement for your account, you will be charged $5 per statement.
Late payment fee. A fee of $45 is applied if you don’t make a payment by the due date.
Cash advance fee. Withdrawing money and other cash advance transactions will cost $3.5 or 4% of the transaction (whichever is greater).
Direct credit advance fee. If you transfer funds from your GO Mastercard to a nominated bank account, you will be charged the greater of $3 or 3% of the total transaction (up to a maximum of $30 per transaction).
International cash advance fee. A cash advance transaction made in a foreign currency is charged at $4.00 in addition to cash advance fee.
International transaction fee. A 3% fee is applied for transactions made overseas or in a foreign currency.
Payment handling fee. Some account payments may attract a $3.95 fee in-person and a $1.95 fee online, for example, those made at Australia Post. You can avoid this fee by making your payments via mail, direct debit or via the Online Service Centre.
Latitude allows you to pay your credit card balance through its online service centre, via direct debit, in person, or using BPAY.
Using the online service centre, payments can take 3-5 business days and you can only make payments once every five days. If you want to use BPAY, you will be charged a $0.95 fee, it may take three days to appear on your account and the credit card account number is the reference number you'll need to use.
There are a couple of reasons you could be charged a fee even if you have paid the balance in full, such as receiving paper statements or making payments at Australia Post.
If you have any other doubts about the fees, call Latitude Financial Services on 1300 552 079 to get a comprehensive answer for your individual circumstances.
Latitude Financial Services charges a fee for paper statements to cover the costs associated with printing and mailing them to customers. You can avoid this fee by registering for the Online Service Centre and requesting electronic statements.
This ultimately depends on the person. But if you check on your balance regularly you will see when you are getting close to your spending limit and can avoid paying an over limit fee by making an extra payment or choosing a different payment method for your purchases.
If you are worried about making payments by the due date each month, you can call Latitude Financial Services and request a monthly direct debit from a nominated account. Keep in mind this will usually be the minimum payment required, so you may want to make additional payments to avoid interest charges and other fees.
If you have successfully applied for a Latitude GO Mastercard, you should receive it within 5-10 working days. Once you receive your card, follow these steps to activate it:
Call 1300 552 079.
Follow the prompts to verify your card.
Select a PIN for the card.
After these steps your card will be ready for use.
Yes, this card requires a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for transactions. You can select your PIN when you activate the card.
Yes. This card comes with Mastercard contactless technology, allowing you to pay for purchases under $100 by simply tapping your card on a compatible card reader.
Your credit limit is set based on your individual circumstances and may not always be the same as the cash limit (which is the amount of cash you can withdraw on any given day). You can find these amounts on your statement or through the Online Service Centre.
Yes, you can use your Mastercard to withdraw cash from any of the more than 900,000 ATMs around the world that display the Mastercard or Cirrus logo. You can also make withdrawals at any financial institutions that display these logos. Remember that cash withdrawals attract a cash advance fee and incur interest from the day of the withdrawal. They are also not eligible for interest-free days.
Yes, just like any other credit card you will get a monthly statement that lists your payment amount and due date. There will also be notations about any overdue payments or over-limit amounts.
There is no fee for paying off your bill before the end of the promotional period.
Your monthly payment is a calculation based on the amount of debt on your card. It is the greater of 3% of the balance or $25, plus any other fees that may be applied to your account.
You will be charged $4.95 for each month your 0% Payment Plan purchase balance is $10 or more. You can work out the total cost of this fee by multiplying $4.95 by the number of months the offer lasts. For example, if you have an interest-free offer for 24 months, your calculation would be: $4.95 x 24 = $118.80.

Hi, once I have paid off my interest free purchase and I do not intend to use the card for regular purchases so it will have nothing owing on it, will I still be charged a monthly fee? I don’t want to cancel it as I potentially want to purchase another item on interest free in the next 6 months or so but don’t want to be charged a monthly fee for a card that is essentially not doing anything?
Thanks

We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
