Types of credit cards from Latitude Financial Services

  • Interest-free credit cards

The Latitude GO Mastercard and Latitude Gem Visa offer long 0% interest payment plans at partnered stores including Freedom, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi and Luxury Escapes, though note that these are not entirely 'free', as monthly fees of $10.95 apply. Depending on the store and offer, you could get an interest-free finance plan for between 12 and 60 months. A high interest rate is charged if you don't pay off the balance by the end of the promotional period.

  • No annual fee credit cards

Latitude offers one credit card that charges no annual fee, ever: the Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard. This card also has no foreign transaction fees, free global data roaming with Flexiroam and airport lounge access if an eligible flight's delayed.

Account fees on Latitude credit cards
Effective from 17 July 2024, Latitude is changing how they charge the monthly account fee for credit cards that offer Interest Free payment plans. Previously, a fee was not charged if your account fell below $10. From July 17, every account (even those with a balance below $10, a zero balance or those in credit/with a positive balance) is charged an account service fee of $10.95 per month. If you don't pay your minimum repayment (including this fee), a late fee will be charged. This is important to note, because if you're not actively using your card and making regular minimum repayments, your account may go into arrears and in default.

  • Australian residency status. In most cases, you'll need to be a permanent Australian resident or citizen. But if the Latitude credit card you're applying for accepts applications from temporary residents, you'll need to show you legally have the right to work in Australia for at least 12 months and proof that you intend to stay that long. As these cards have different residency requirements, you should check the eligibility details on the application page before you apply.
  • Age. You must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Financial information. Your income and assets such as savings, property and investments. Plus details about any current credit cards, loans or debts, as well as ongoing expenses like rent, mortgage repayments, transport or anything else that is considered a regular, essential cost. You could also be asked to provide proof of income, such as recent payslips, bank statements or your most recent tax assessment notice from the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Details if you're not an Australian permanent resident. If the credit card your applying for accepts applications from temporary Australian residents, you'll need to provide details of your visa, employment situation and any other documents that show you plan to be in Australia for at least 12 months.
  • Card details. Depending on the card, you may be given the option to request a specific credit limit or additional cardholder as part of the application.

    Hi All,
    Good day to you.
Like to know whether if I purchased air-ticket using my GE Coles MasterCard, would it already covered the travel insurance so I do not have to buy again.
Appreciate if you could kindly answer this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Rey

      Hi Rey,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, the GE Coles Mastercard does not include complimentary travel insurance, you can check this page for a list of complimentary travel insurance cards included.

      I hope this helps!

      Cheers,

I have a GE Credit line card from 2009. I would like to make a purchase at Harvey Norman. They have 50 months interest free terms. Is my card still valid.

      Hi Darren,

      Thanks for your question.

You’ll need to check the expiry date on your card to see if it has expired. If it has, you will need to get in contact with GE Money to find out about renewing your account or whether you’ll need to apply for a new one.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth

Why cant I use my GE credit card at the Westpac branch in Mt Gambier to make a withdrawal. Why can I only make withdrawals at the ATM and you are charging me $30 for a $1,000 withdrawal!

      Hi, Anne.

If you’re withdrawing $1000 from your available credit limit through a cash advance facility, you’ll incur a 3% charge, which is $30.

      Thanks for your question.
