Woolworths credit cards offered Qantas Points or credit card points for your everyday spending but are no longer available. Here's what you need to know.
Credit card issuer Macquarie has announced that it will no longer offer Woolworths credit cards. Between June and August 2023, existing customers will have their Woolworths credit card replaced with a Macquarie Platinum Credit Card that earns points through the Macquarie Rewards program.
A Woolworths spokesperson told Finder: "We'd like to thank our credit card customers for their loyalty over the years and remind them they can continue to get great value offers they had with their credit card, including the bonus 10% off their monthly shop, through being customers of our Everyday Extra program, Everyday Insurance and Woolworths Mobile products."
We've kept other details about Woolworths Credit Cards below for reference. You can also compare a wide range of rewards credit cards available on Finder right now.
We currently don't have a partnership for that product, but we have other similar offers to choose from (how we picked these
):
Key dates for existing Woolworths credit card customers
May 2023: Macquarie will send you details about the move to a Macquarie credit card account. This will happen at least 30 days before the transition.
1 June 2023: If you don't want a Macquarie credit card, you need to pay off your card and close the account by this date.
June 2023: Any remaining points earned on a Woolworths Everyday credit card will be converted to Woolworths eGift Shopping Cards. Remaining points on a Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card will be added to your Qantas Frequent Flyer balance.
30 September 2023: Until this date, you can still get 10% off your Woolworths grocery shop once a month when you scan the Everyday Rewards barcode on the back of your Woolworths credit card.
August to October 2023: Your Woolworths credit card will stop working.
Types of credit cards from Woolworths
Note: The details below relate to Woolworths credit cards when they were available in Australia (before April 2023). We have kept the details for reference for existing customers, however these accounts will not be available after October 2023. If you're an existing customer, contact Macquarie Bank on 1300 150 300 for specific details about your account.
Rewards credit cards
The Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card earns credit card reward points per $1 spent on eligible purchases both at Woolworths and everywhere else. The points are automatically converted to Woolworths Shopping Cards every 4 months, with a minimum of 4,000 points equal to a $20 shopping card.
Frequent flyer credit cards
You can use the Woolworths Qantas Platinum Credit Card to earn Qantas Points on eligible spending, with a higher number of points per $1 offered at Woolworths. Other benefits include complimentary travel insurance, a concierge service and exclusive discounts at Woolworths Group retailers.
Standard and platinum Woolworths credit cards
If you're approved for a credit limit of $6,000 or more, you'll be able to enjoy more benefits with a Woolworths Everyday Platinum and Woolworths Qantas Platinum credit card. But if you're approved for a credit limit of less than $6,000, you will be issued with a Woolworths Everyday Card that does not offer platinum benefits.
Benefits of getting a Woolworths credit card
10% off at Woolworths once a month on selected dates
Each month, you'll receive an email offer for 10% off your shop at Woolworths when you scan the barcode on the back of your credit card and pay with it. This offer is available for spending up to $500, which means you can get a maximum of $50 off your shop. Keep in mind that this offer is not available in Tasmania and also excludes spending on certain items.
Everyday Rewards
If you link your Everyday Rewards account with a Woolworths credit card, you'll earn Everyday Rewards points when you shop at partner stores and scan the membership barcode on the back of your credit card before paying. This is in addition to the Qantas Points or credit card points you earn when paying with your credit card.
Earn more Qantas Points when you spend
If you're a member of Everyday Rewards and choose to earn Qantas Points instead of Everyday Rewards points, you'll get 1,000 frequent flyer points for every 2,000 Everyday Rewards points you earn. Apply for the Woolworths Platinum Qantas Credit Card and you can also rack up Qantas Points per $1 spent on all eligible purchases.
50% off selected wine cases at Cellarmasters
If you buy a selected white, red or mixed case online and pay with a Woolworths credit card, you'll get 50% off the regular price. Note that delivery charges still apply.
Save with up to 10% on Woolworths Insurance
Use your Woolworths credit card to pay for a new Woolworths Car, Home, Pet or Travel Insurance policy to save up to 10% on the cost.

SallyAugust 31, 2015Finder
Hi Brian,
Thanks for your inquiry.
As long as you meet the application requirements for a credit card you will be eligible to apply. You may like to refer to our guide on credit card approval.
However, before you apply for another credit card, you may wish to speak with some credit card issuers directly to discuss your options and chances for acceptance, as several rejected credit card applications will have a negative impact on your credit rate and reduce your chances of approval even further.
I hope this has helped answer your questions.
Thanks,
Sally

I have a platinum Visa card which is now interest free for the amount that’s on there, if I were to take more money out will that amount be taken off first or last? If it’s taken off last then it’s accumulating interest while I pay off the interest free?
Finder
JonathanJune 17, 2015Finder
Hi Katie, thanks for your inquiry!
In regards to interest repayments when there is an interest free amount/ promotional rate present on the credit card, repayments will go to the highest rate of interest repayable on that credit card then to the next highest rate of interest and so forth. As a result taking money out would qualify as a cash advance which would take the first priority for repayments unless there was a higher interest rate available.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Important information about this website
Finder makes money from featured partners, but editorial opinions are our own.
Finder is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stand by our editorial principles.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Compensation received from the providers featured on our site can influence which products we write about as well as where and how products appear on our page, but the order or placement of these products does not influence our assessment or opinions of them, nor is it an endorsement or recommendation for them.
Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
Please read our website terms of use and privacy policy for more information about our services and our approach to privacy.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
