What is Shiba Inu?

Shiba Inu (SHIB) was launched in 2020 by an anonymous individual known as Ryoshi. They created the SHIB token along with other projects within the Shiba Inu ecosystem such as LEASH and BONES. SHIB was added to Uniswap and started trading close to a price of $0. The founder of the project eventually gave half of the total supply to Vitalik Buterin. At the time the gift was worth billions of dollars. Buterin decided to donate some of the money, and burn the rest. SHIB has since made news by being connected to the memes surrounding Dogecoin. When Elon Musk tweets about Dogecoin, SHIB is inevitably brought into the conversation as the “dogecoin killer”. Most major exchanges have opted to list SHIB, and so it can now be bought on reputable platforms such as Crypto.com and Coinbase.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is in the top 1,000 cryptocurrencies in the world by market cap, valued at $10,131,654,249. The current price of Shiba Inu is $2.583E-5, which is 1.982% higher than yesterday.
