Litecoin (LTC) price prediction November 2024

What factors affect the price of Litecoin and what does the future hold for this long-standing cryptocurrency?

Key Insights

  • 2024 price forecast: LTC expected to reach $86 by 2024, $147 by 2025, and $424 by 2030, according to panel averages.
  • Peak and trough predictions: Panelists project a range of outcomes, with $125 (optimistic) to $40 (pessimistic) for LTC by end of 2024.
  • Experts say speed is key to LTC's success: LTC remains attractive due to lower costs and faster transactions compared to Bitcoin, though Layer-2 solutions pose challenges.
  • Buy, sell or hold: Half of the panel advises selling LTC now, while 31% recommend buying, and 19% suggest holding.
  • Losing traction: LTC has dropped out of the top twenty cryptocurrencies on CoinMarketCap, leading to reduced media attention.

Finder asked a panel of 28 fintech specialists in October 2024 about their price predictions for Litecoin (LTC) through 2030.

Find out how much our panellists think LTC will be worth by the end of 2024, 2025 and 2030.

Litecoin price predictions for 2024, 2025 and 2030

On average, our panellists think LTC's price will hit $86 before 2024 is out.

They also expect the price of LTC to rise to $147 by 2025 and $424 by 2030.

Ben Ritchie, managing director at Alpha Node Global, says litecoin (LTC) will end 2024 worth $80 based on it being a "lite" version of BTC.

"Litecoin remains a lighter version of bitcoin, offering lower costs and faster transactions. However, its purpose could be challenged by the rise of Layer-2 solutions. Demand drivers include its similar halving cycle and the potential for institutional adoption as a bitcoin alternative."

Daniel Keller, the CEO of InFlux Technologies, gives one of the strongest projections for 2024 at $125 based on its solid history in the crypto space.

"Litecoin (LTC) is a strong decentralised project with a long history of reliability, fast transactions, and low fees. As one of the earliest cryptocurrencies, it continues to serve as a trusted asset in the crypto space. Its growth will depend on broader adoption and integration into payment systems."

John Hawkins, a senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, sees LTC falling to just $40 as "Litecoin has dropped out of the top twenty [cryptocurrencies] on CoinMarketCap. It already gets little media attention and will probably get less."

Is now the time to buy, sell, or hold LTC?

Half the panel (50%) say it's time to sell your LTC. However, just shy of a third (31%) see LTC as a value and say now is the time to buy, with the remaining 19% seeing LTC as a hold.

LTC has been around for a while as a faster, cheaper alternative to Bitcoin, making it a reliable choice for quick transactions. It's a solid project, but its growth potential is somewhat limited compared to coins like Ethereum, which have a broader range of uses. LTC is more focused on being a straightforward digital currency, so it doesn't have the same buzz as some other projects. These price predictions are just a rough guess based on its steady presence in the market, but like any crypto, things can change quickly.

LTC is where every BTC developer must start, before they can work on BTC. Even in the unlikely event that nobody uses LTC for transactions, developers will still have to buy it. LTC is the opposite of the canary in the coalmine. It is more akin to Doctor Copper, for those who know.

Litecoin is a well-established cryptocurrency with a strong track record, but its future price will depend on its ability to innovate and compete with newer, more advanced blockchains. The upcoming halving event could be a positive catalyst, but it's not a guarantee of price appreciation.

Again without any fundamental catalysts or new use case, I do wonder how long these assets will remain in the top 20.

I don't see the point of LTC and only attribute price appreciation to it's tendency to somehow not die. It's the cockroach of crypto, it can't be stamped out and somehow always emerges from the darkness.
