Dodo Energy review

Dodo Energy offers decent prices on its electricity and gas plans in NSW and VIC. It's only signing up electricity customers in QLD but the rates aren't the best around. Market offers in SA for new customers are currently paused.

Dodo also won't lock you into a contract on any of its plans so you're able to switch providers whenever you want.

Pros

  • Flexible payment options
  • Online energy usage tracker
  • Save up to $10 per month when you bundle your energy and internet plans

Cons

  • High GreenPower rates

Is Dodo Energy environmentally friendly?

Dodo Energy ranks relatively low on the Green Electricity Guide with a rating of 3.39/10.

The guide offers Australian consumers information to help them compare energy retailers' green practices and make environmentally-conscious decisions.

However, Dodo Energy does offer GreenPower add-ons if you want your electricity usage matched by Dodo with the purchase of renewable energy that's exported to the grid.

  • 10% GreenPower: 99c/kWh
  • 100% GreenPower: 9.90c/kWh
  • Keep in mind. Of the energy providers we've compared, Dodo Energy has one of the most expensive GreenPower rates. Other providers tend to charge up to 5c/kWh.

If you are interested in greener options, you can check out the winner and the finalists from Finder Green Awards.

      Hi Sara,

      Thanks for getting in touch!

Choosing a provider for energy depends on where you are located. As per Dodo, their operating hours are from 10 am-7 pm only. To find out other providers’ operating hours, you must first check the providers offering gas and electricity in your state. Once you have decided which one to go for, you can go to their website’s contact page and you’ll be able to find their operating hours. Hope this helps!

      Best,
      Nikki

      Hi Jess,

      Thanks for your question.

Since this is a home bundle, you will need to get in touch with Dodo directly to ask for a quote.

Dodo usually offers electricity and gas separately to it’s broadband.
