Red Energy review
Red Energy's established itself as one of the major power retailers in the country outside the big 3 (AGL, Origin Energy, EnergyAustralia). Its electricity and gas plans tend to be on the more expensive side but come with some perks.
The big draw for signing up to Red Energy is to earn Qantas Points. When you initially sign up you can earn 10,000 bonus points on its electricity plan and 5,000 for gas.
After that, every dollar you spend on the Qantas Red Saver plan will earn you an additional 2 points.
Pros
- 100% Australian owned
- Local customer support
- Refer a friend
Cons
- Only has an app for its rewards program. It doesn't let you manage your plan
I was told there was no exit fee for Red. I am concerned that my private info is floating around with so many suppliers in this game?
Hi Wayne,
Thanks for your question.
That is partly true because some Red Energy plans as listed on our table above do not charge exit fees.
Cheers,
Anndy
