We asked 1300 Australians to rate their pet insurer based on customer service, value for money, benefits and more.

Petcover came in first place overall, scoring 4.32/5. Of the people surveyed, 88% said they would recommend Petcover to a friend. Petcover offers dog and cat insurance. It's also one of the only insurers to offer horse and exotic pet insurance.

Pet insurance customer satisfaction awards methodology

To get our customer satisfaction award winners for pet insurance, we asked a total of 1300 customers how they felt about their current pet insurer. To be eligible for inclusion in the final results, we had to get a minimum of 45 responses for each pet insurer.

We asked each customer to rate the following out of 5:

  • Features and benefits
  • Customer service
  • Value for money
  • Ease of application
  • Overall

Respondents were also asked whether they would recommend the brand to a friend. The final score was calculated as an average of all metrics scored.

Green Cross, RACQ, RAC and Petplan were not included in the final results because they did not meet our eligibility criteria. Green Cross Healthy Pets Plus isn't an insurance policy, it's a wellness programme. RACQ and RAC were excluded because they are not available in all Australian states. Petplan is now Petcover.
