Hej! You can earn Qantas points at IKEA this week – here’s the easy way how
You can easily earn 10,000 points – here's how.
I love a gift card deal that lets me earn extra frequent flyer points, and I love IKEA. All my lounge room decor is testament to that fact.
So I'm excited by the promotion that's running at Woolworths this week.
From Wednesday 12 March until Tuesday 18 March, when you buy an IKEA gift card at Woolworths, you'll earn 20 times the dollar value as Everyday Rewards points. For a $100 gift card, that means you'll earn a bonus 2,000 Everyday Rewards points. That converts to 1,000 Qantas Points.
You can purchase a maximum of 10 cards in a day. That means the maximum number of points you can earn is 10,000 Qantas Points, which would get you a return Sydney-Melbourne flight in Economy. (That route requires 8,000 Qantas Points). If you were super-keen, you could buy 10 cards a day for a week, though that would mean forking out $7,000.

Supercharge your points with a credit card sign-up bonus.
Realistically, it's not hard to imagine spending $1,000 bucks on new furniture at IKEA. So why not get 10,000 extra Qantas Points as well?
The same bonus points deal is also available for gift cards from Luxury Escapes and Gift To Me, amongst others. But it's the IKEA option that interests me right now.
This deal is becoming a little more frequent. Woolworths ran it twice last year, in June and December.
In practice, the trickiest aspect of accessing this deal will likely be finding a branch of Woolworths with enough cards in stock if you want to buy a lot of cards.
And remember that you can't buy the cards online and earn points. Also you can't buy gift cards in Woolworths at a self-service checkout – you'll need to go to the express or regular checkout instead.
We updated this guide on 12 March 2025 with the latest Woolworths/IKEA gift card offer.
