Amaysim will add another 150,000 mobile customers to its network over the next few months.

Amaysim is set to take over Circles Life's Australian customer base.

Both providers run on the Optus network so straight off the bat, coverage shouldn't be an issue.

I'm a Circles Life customer. How will I be impacted?

If you're a Circles Life customer, you can expect to start receiving emails from amaysim today.

For now, all that's changing is the name of your mobile provider. Your SIM, mobile number, phone plan and network will all remain the same.

No action is required from your end.

However, that's a temporary arrangement. Here's what amaysim shared with Finder about what's coming next:

  • Details are still being finalised as it works on what the best amaysim plan looks like for every Circles Life customer it onboards.
  • From next month, once the change of provider process has been completed, you will receive information about the amaysim plan that best matches your current Circles Life plan.
  • You will be automatically migrated to the new plan unless you choose to opt out.
  • If you stick with amaysim, you'll be able to choose your plan once you're officially transferred.

The transfer might take a few months since there are a few steps, like legal stuff, that need to happen during the 'change of supplier' period.

Are amaysim's mobile plans worth it?

Amaysim offers prepaid mobile plans with 28-day and 365-day expiry periods plus the option to sign up via an eSIM if you have a compatible handset.

You have the flexibility to choose between a month-to-month plan or a long-expiry plan, where you can just set and forget your mobile bill for the whole year.

Here's a quick look at the available plans and their features before we dive into whether they're worth it:

They're not the cheapest plans around but you get more bang for your buck on the higher data plans. That's why it was highly commended in the 2024 Finder Awards for Prepaid Mobile Provider - High Data.

Having features like unlimited data banking is also pretty handy if you don't want your unused data to go to waste.

Or if you want access to Optus's 5G network which can be useful in crowded spaces for reliability.

The caveat is download speeds are limited to 100Mbps except for the 120GB plan, which caps the download speeds at 250Mbps.

To be fair though, that's still plenty fast for just about anything you'd want to do on your phone, especially since most people only do one or two things at a time.

Amaysim goes big on customer satisfaction and bundling perks

Amaysim's a well-loved mobile provider, especially when it comes to customer satisfaction.

Most recently, it received high praise in the 2024 Finder Mobile Customer Satisfaction Awards, winning accolades for Most Loved, Top Value, Most Trusted, and Legendary Service.

This was all based on a survey of hundreds of Aussies.

As of last year, it also started selling NBN plans.

You can get a $10 a month bundling discount when you're with amaysim for both mobile and broadband.

Vir Nath, vice president of amaysim, reinforces the provider's commitment to customer service as they onboard Circles Life customers.

We're thrilled to welcome Circles Life customers to the amaysim family. This acquisition not only strengthens our position in the Australian telco market but also enables us to offer more Aussies the same customer-centricity, exceptional value, and outstanding customer service that define amaysim.

Is Circles Life still going to sell mobile plans?

Circles Life will continue to acquire and onboard customers for the next few months, according to amaysim.

We expect them to experience a similar transition as current customers unless they're only joining Circles Life for a short time.

The news of Circles Life being acquired might come as a shock to those who've been following its journey since 2019.

That's when Circles Life first made a splash in the Aussie market, becoming the go-to for super affordable, high-data plans - 100 gigs or more.

You can always compare other mobile plans on Finder before you make any decision. Always opt for a plan that meets your budget and data needs. There's no point paying for features that you don't want.
