For September we've found the market's 5 best balance transfer cards, which is based on a combination of:

  • A long balance transfer offer
  • A low balance transfer fee
  • A low annual fee
  • Balance transfer, purchase and revert rates

1. St.George Vertigo Card

The St.George Vertigo Card has a Finder Score of 9.9 in the balance transfer category.

It offers what is the best balance transfer deal right now: 0.99% balance transfer offer for 28 months with no balance transfer fee. That means you can shift over your unpaid card balance with a small fee and pay 0% interest while you pay it off over more than 2 years.

The BankSA Vertigo Card and the Bank of Melbourne Vertigo Cards have the exact same details as the St.George card.

2. Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer

The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.34.

It has a 0% balance transfer offer for 24 months with no balance transfer fee. Plus no annual fee for the first year. And you can earn some Velocity Points on your spending.

4.NAB Low Rate Credit Card

The NAB Low Rate Credit Card has a Finder Score of 9.5 in the balance transfer category. It has a 0% balance transfer offer for 28 months with a 2% balance transfer fee.

And there's no annual fee for the first year. It's a very long balance transfer offer but the 2% fee is one thing to be aware of. On higher balances this will cost a bit more but it is a one-off fee.

4. Citi Clear Card - Balance Transfer Offer

The Citi Clear Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.43. It has a 0% balance transfer offer for 28 months with a 2% balance transfer fee.

It also has the 2% fee for transferring your balance, and a $99 annual fee to watch out for.

5. Westpac Low Rate Card

The Westpac Low Rate Card has a balance transfer Finder Score of 9.31.

It has a long balance transfer period of 26 months with a 2% fee and a low annual fee of $59. This is a low rate card so if you're looking to do some spending with it, it's a fairly budget option with few perks and frills. Not a bad choice if you're trying to avoid getting into further credit card debt.
