Which Dodo internet plan do I sign up for?
Choosing the right internet plan really comes down to how many people are in your household and what your internet usage looks like.
Most Aussie households go with NBN 50, which works well for 2-3 people.
But if everyone's streaming, gaming, or working from home, bumping up to NBN 100 might be a better fit.
Here's a look at Dodo's discounted NBN speed tiers and who they're best for:
NBN speed tier | Great for |
---|---|
NBN 25 (Basic II) | Budget-savvy household of 1-2 people |
NBN 50 (Standard) | Sweet spot for the average household of 2-3 people with moderate internet use |
NBN 100 (Fast) | Internet users with a need for speed or bigger families |
NBN 250 (Superfast) | So you can go zoom zoom, without a care in the world |
Keep in mind that only households with an FTTP or HFC NBN connection can sign up for NBN 250.
But the good news is NBN Co recently announced more than 9 million homes and businesses in Australia can now access ultrafast speeds (up to 1000Mbps).
Pop in your address on NBN Co's website to see if you're eligible for an upgrade.
To trigger it, you'll need to sign up for an NBN 100 plan or above. The good thing is the price gap between NBN 50 and NBN 100 plans has gotten smaller.
Plus, offers from the likes of Dodo make it easier to consider NBN 100.
Is Dodo reliable?
If you're worried about Dodo's internet speed reliability...
It tied in fourth with iPrimus out of 12 providers for speed reliability during the busiest hours of the day (7-11pm), according to the ACCC's latest broadband performance report.
If you're unhappy at any point, there's no lock-in contract so you can cancel the plan whenever.
