TPG and iiNet are some of the last major NBN providers to change their plan prices, making it even more tempting to get faster internet speeds.

It's been a rollercoaster since the second half of 2023 when NBN providers initially started overhauling their plan prices.

It was in anticipation of NBN Co's new pricing framework favouring faster speeds. The framework officially kicked in December 2023.

As a result, we've seen NBN 50 plans become more expensive and faster speeds, that is NBN 100 and above, become cheaper.

TPG, iiNet NBN price changes effective from 20 March 2024

TPG increased the price of its NBN 50 plan by $5 a month and lowered the prices of its NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans by $30 and $40 a month respectively.

  • NBN 50: $79.99 a month instead of $74.99
  • NBN 250: $94.99 a month instead of $124.99
  • NBN 1000: $104.99 a month instead of $144.99

iiNet hasn't changed the price of its NBN 50 plan but it's lowered the cost of NBN 100 by $10 a month. Similar to TPG, its NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans are now cheaper by $30 and $40 a month respectively.

  • NBN 100: $89.99 a month instead of $99.99
  • NBN 250: $99.99 a month instead of $129.99
  • NBN 1000: $104.99 a month instead of $144.99

We've also analysed both NBN 50 and NBN 100 price changes across 20+ providers as these are the 2 most popular speed tiers in Australia.

Further down the news piece you'll find a list of some of the best deals floating around as it's always a good idea to compare plans at least every 6 months.

The average price difference between an unlimited data NBN 50 and NBN 100 plan on Finder has gone down to $13.60 a month as of March 2024 as opposed to $19.18 a month in August 2023, right before providers started changing prices.
