The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE will be released on 10 October in Australia alongside the Galaxy Tab S10 series, with prices starting from $1,099.

The Galaxy S24 FE is Samsung's fan edition of the flagship Galaxy S24.

And yes, it's packing some popular AI tricks along with a bigger 6.7-inch display and a larger battery.

But before we dive into all the specs and features, let's address the elephant in the room that appears at every phone launch - the price.

How much does the Galaxy S24 FE cost?

The Galaxy S24 FE costs:

  • $1,099 for 128GB
  • $1,199 for 256GB

The starting price is $100 more expensive than last year's S23 FE and $300 cheaper than the starting cost of the S24 series.

On paper, the Galaxy S24 FE is cheaper than most flagship phones despite being semi-premium, which is great.

But the question is would you get it if you can get the S24 for around the same price during a sale?

Galaxy S24 FE: Specs and features

You can choose the Galaxy S24 FE in graphite, blue or mint colours.

The display has been upgraded from 6.5 to 6.7 inches, and the battery now boasts a capacity of 4,700mAh, up from 4,500mAh.

Expect thinner bezels, eSIM support, IP68 water resistance, wireless charging, and importantly, seven years of operating system and security updates.

AI features include image and video editing to remove unwanted objects, transcription assistance, chat assistance, and live translation.

Here's a rundown of the key specs, including camera details.

Can I pre-order the Galaxy S24 FE in Australia?

You can already place pre-orders if you're buying it outright.

However, mobile providers like Telstra, Optus and Vodafone will offer phone plans on launch day itself (10 October).

Check back with us then because we'll be going through all the plans (and hopefully deals) from all three telcos.

Are there any deals on the S24 right now?

If you're considering getting the S24 FE on a plan, you might want to check out deals on the S24 instead.

Vodafone S24 deals

Vodafone's running a $300 discount across the full S24 lineup if you stay connected for 24 or 36 months.

This means the S24 256GB base model is, in fact, the same price as the S24 FE.

Alternatively, you can compare all S24 plans and offers from Optus, Telstra and Vodafone to see if any other model takes your fancy.
