ANZ, Virgin & Westpac lead April’s balance transfer credit card offers

Unpaid card debt? How does 0% interest for up to 28 months sound?
The best balance transfer credit card offers give you many months to repay your card balance with no interest. And if the card keeps the fees lower, even better.
This month, ANZ led the pack with a Finder exclusive balance transfer offer, followed by competitive deals from Virgin Money, St.George and Westpac.
All Finder's balance transfer picks are based on their Finder Scores, an objective scoring system based on nothing but data.
1. ANZ Low Rate Credit Card - Balance Transfer Exclusive Offer
The ANZ Low Rate Credit Card - Balance Transfer Exclusive Offer has a Finder Score of in the balance transfer category.
This is Finder's top scoring balance transfer credit card offer. And it's a Finder exclusive!
You can transfer a credit card balance to this card and get 0% interest for 28 months. That's easily one of the market's longest balance transfer periods. There's a 2% balance transfer fee as well.
This card is a great way to get your debt under control and pay no interest for over 2 years. Plus the card's $58 annual fee (already lower than the average) is waived in the first year.
2. Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit - Balance Transfer Offer
The Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.9.
Virgin Money's Anytime Rewards Credit Card gives you a 0% balance transfer for 24 months with a 1% fee. That's a great deal: 2 years with no interest while you pay off your card balance, and the lowest balance transfer fee you can get.
The annual fee is a bit higher than on a low rate credit card, at $149. But that's because you can also earn Virgin Money points on your spending (although if you have a big balance to pay off you don't want to focus on spending and earning rewards!).
3. Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer
The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card - Balance Transfer Offer has a Finder Score of 9.89.
Once again this card gives you an excellent 0% balance transfer offer for 24 months with a 1% balance transfer fee. And the same $149 annual fee.
But this card lets you earn lucrative Velocity Points. And the annual fee is almost entirely offset by a $129 annual Virgin gift card.
4. St.George Vertigo Card
The St.George Vertigo Card is still one of the best balance transfer offers on the market, with a Finder Score of 9.69.
This card, along with its identical Bank of Melbourne and BankSA cousins, gives you a 0% balance transfer offer for 24 months with a really low balance transfer fee of 2%, and a very low annual fee of $55 (that's about as low as card fees get, unless you're looking at cards with no annual fee).
5. Westpac Low Rate Card
The Westpac Low Rate Card has a balance transfer Finder Score of 9.69.
Westpac's Low Rate card is very comparable to the Vertigo cards. You get 0% on balance transfers for 24 months with a 2% balance transfer fee.
The annual fee is only slightly higher at $59. Still an excellent, no frills card for paying off debt while keeping things simple.
