Revealing the month's 5 best Qantas and Velocity Points credit cards, based on the data.

As we head towards the end of the year, booking summer holidays is on the minds of many Australians (those who can afford it, anyway).

To help maximise your points potential and travel perks, we've rounded up the 5 best frequent flyer credit cards on the market right now. These cards let you earn stacks of Qantas or Velocity Points, and we've ranked them using our unique Finder Score methodology.

1. ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Card

The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black has a Finder Score of 9.9 in the frequent flyer category.

This card has a strong earn rate (1 point per dollar) and 130,000 bonus Qantas points in total (although it takes 12 months to get all of them in your account). It has a high annual fee at $425, but it's partly offset by a $200 cashback.

2. Qantas Premier Titanium

The Qantas Premier Titanium has a frequent flyer Finder Score of 9.76.

This card is possibly the ultimate Qantas Points machine. But it has a high barrier to entry, with a $200K minimum income and a $1,200 annual fee.

This is for people who want to earn stacks of points and get status credits, and know they'll get value out of this expensive card. I can't afford this card and probably never will!

3. Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer Card

The Virgin Australia Velocity High Flyer Card is Finder's top scoring Velocity card for the month, with a Finder Score of 9.56.

This is a great card for people in the Velocity Points program. You get 80,000 bonus points, which is not the highest offer around, but the points land in your account in just a few months (if you meet the spend criteria).

The annual fee is hefty, at $329, but not the highest, and it is partially offset by a $129 Virgin Australia gift card + 2 lounge passes.

4. Westpac Altitude Qantas Black

The Westpac Altitude Qantas Black has a Finder Score of 9.55.

This card offers a very tidy 120,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend $6,000 in the first 120 days. You get 90,000 points in the first 120 days and the rest in the second year of the card (meaning you have to pay the annual fee again).

The earn rate is a touch low at .75 Qantas Points per dollar and the annual fee is $375.

5. Westpac Altitude Velocity Black

The Westpac Altitude Velocity Black has a Finder Score of 9.55 in the frequent flyer category.

This card has all the details as the Westpac Altitude Qantas Black, but for Velocity. 120,000 bonus points, $370 annual fee and an earn rate of 0.75 Velocity Points per dollar spent.
